Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Sep 17, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The students are so excited to have their new headphones. The headphones allow them to fully concentrate on their daily learning on the computer. They can now fully engage in iReady reading activities and comprehension lessons. They can fully focus on their math lessons through iReady Math as well. Several students have commented on how quiet their learning environment has become since receiving their headphones. I have noticed how students have been able to complete more assignments because of minimal distractions due to the headphones.
Thank you also for the place-value disks. They have especially helped those students who need hands-on manipulatives in order to grasp concepts. It has also helped students to visually see the place value of each digit. It makes adding and subtracting much more visual. The disks also allow the students to physically manipulate them when regrouping to show, for example, that 10 ones disks makes one ten disk when adding. It is great for me to see how students capture the understanding of regrouping now that they have the place-value disks to support their learning! Thank you again for making learning attainable for my students!”

Funded Apr 3, 2015Thank you so very much for the Chromebook. My students have been so excited about using their new teaching tool. They have been highly engaged in the exploration of their new learning. In addition, they have been so motivated to learn about money. They have had the opportunity to recognize coins, count money, and even make change. By going on websites like adaptedmath.com and IXL, they have been able to grasp money concepts in a much quicker way than I would have been able to provide using paper and pencil. Moreover, students are simply just having fun as they learn. At the same time, I have noticed that they work collaboratively and engage in language development. To see students embrace new concepts, so quickly and at times effortlessly is, truly exciting.”

Funded Mar 18, 2015Thank you so very much for the Samsung tablet. Having access to technology has given me endless opportunities to attend on-line professional development trainings. I have been able to become more familiar with my school's recently-adopted writing program. By being able to view writing strategies and videos at NancyFetzer.com, it has enabled me to become more familiarized with the various writing techniques and strategies. I have been able to implement these Common Core aligned methods in my classroom. In addition, I have used my tablet to administer the end-of-year DIBELS assessment to all my students. With the data collected, I am able to monitor and adjust instruction for those students who need it.
Again, thank you so much for this great tool that will make me a better educator.”
