This classroom project was brought to life by #TeachHealthy with Nature Made. The Magic of Teachers Pay Teachers!
Funded May 20, 2020Thank you very much for your donations. Through your donations, I was able to purchase necessary resources for my students both for distance learning and in-person learning. Students connected with the resources I was able to purchase as the resources were engaging, standards-based, and provided the needed rigor.
A portion of the funds, I used to purchase a resource for the Thanksgiving season. My students enjoyed discussing what they were thankful for and how they exhibit gratitude in their everyday lives. During distance learning, I was able to place the students in breakout rooms during our Zoom, in order to have increased participation.
With a portion of the granted funds, I also purchased materials for my Emergent Reading block for in-person instruction. My first graders enjoyed making connections with the literature of "Corduroy."
Again, it is my utmost appreciation for your generous donations.”

Funded Dec 30, 2016My first graders and I are grateful for your generous donations. There were so many resources in the donation. Your donation will positively impact my current students as well as future students. I have found these resources extremely resourceful when working in small groups. When working in small groups of 4-6 students during my language arts "Learning Academy" time, allows me to provide the support needed to assist students to academic success. I have found the medial and ending sound sorts extremely beneficial in helping my struggling readers become better readers and focusing on the sounds of the words. I have also been able to have my students retell the story of "The Three Bears" using the book donation and the puppets that accompany the story. They were a real hit! They adored the puppets and inspired them to retell the story in their own words.
When I opened the boxes of materials in front of my students, they were overjoyed and could not wait to use the materials. It took a bit of time to organize the materials and they would constantly ask when could they use the materials! When my students were able to use the materials they were extremely astatic and wanted to know when they could "play with them" again!
Each year, I teach a Fairy Tale unit, I am excited to introduce the STEM component to my unit as well as the retell puppets. I believe these resources will further enhance this exciting unit and foster the love of learning!”

Funded Dec 8, 2015Thank you very much for your donations to fund my project. The rug is vital piece to our learning community. It allows my students to focus on the lessons as well as engage in meaningful classroom discussions.
When the "magic carpet" was delivered to our classroom they were and continue to be overjoyed! This rug allows students to have their own space to learn! They love "remaining in their square."
During the week of "Read Across America" we were able to celebrate Dr. Seuss in style!! L.A. Galaxy Soccer players came to read stories, students were able to share their favorite book in their pajamas, and watch a Dr. Seuss movie!!! These are just a few learning experiences my students have been able to enjoy on the "magic carpet!"
Again thanks again!!”

Lights! Camera! Project Learning!
Funded Oct 30, 2015My first graders and I want to thank you for your generous donation to fund our grant to receive a document reader in our classroom! We use this daily with the use of a projector for daily lessons. This allows all of my students the ability to see a presented lesson using the same worksheet or activity I am modeling and/ or guiding for them to complete.
The document reader is exciting for my students because as I am instructing the lesson they are able to follow along. My class consists of 24 students whose home language is not English. Therefore, this is an important and pivotal piece of technology in the classroom.
We are so very grateful of the generous donation to bring more technology into my classroom. My students will continue to make educational gains with the use of the document reader.”

Creative Minds
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you for your generous donation for my first grade students. My students are always enthusiastic to participate in art activities. When all of the boxes arrived and I opened them in front of them, they wanted to create art right that moment!
My students use to the art supplies to further their art experiences and create their own masterpieces. Through art I am able to increase my students' vocabulary knowledge.
Through your donation I am able to offer my students art supplies that are not in my school's budget, thus further engaging them in education and their love for school!”

Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you for your generosity of your donation. My students as well as the entire first grade (125 students) are ecstatic over the I Pod that was purchased through your donation. They are able to enjoy the music every morning.
I use the I Pod to teach the first graders Brain Dance. Brain Dance is physical education of the mind and body through movement and music. My first grade classroom utilize the I Pod during math instruction. I use it to teach and reteach math concepts using Ron Brown music.
