Nature Versus Technology!
Funded Dec 23, 2023My class is loving reading The Wild Robot! They have made predictions about the Story and the Robot, Roz. They have learned about Problem and Solution. They have learned about settings and foreshadowing. They are reflecting on how Roz has grown and how her relationship has changed with the animals on the island. Roz has changed from being regarded as a "monster" to being thought of as a friend.
My students were assigned a project to design and build their own robot. The results were amazing! They are currently making presentations of their robots to the class and explaining what their robot's skills are and how it can help.
Thank you so much for your donation to our class! My students have enjoyed reading their own copy of a brand new chapter book! They have even checking out the sequels from the library. It has encouraged their love of reading!”

Let’s Hear It for Learning with Technology!
Funded Sep 11, 2023Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. My students were so excited to receive their new headphones. Our other headphones were falling apart or did not work properly. My students use their iPads daily for independent reading and math programs that are programmed to strengthen their skills and help them reach their academic goals. Quality headphones are critical to keep noise levels down and help my students to focus on their lessons. Reading and math scores are rising as a result. Thank you for helping make this happen!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for helping my class with your generous donations. My students were so excited when we received the white boards and could not wait to start using them! We use the paddles daily for math warm-ups and lessons. We also use them for practicing spelling words and for phonics. The students' participation is 100% because they are actively engaged when writing their answers on the white board paddles. As a result of being engaged, their reading and math scores have also improved. Thank you once again for making a difference.”

Funded Nov 22, 2022Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! My students are enjoying the play rugs and picture frame crafts.
First of all, with all the rain we have been having in California this year, the play rugs are really getting used! My students have LOVED learning to play hopscotch. They ask to bring it out whenever we have indoor recess. Playing hopscotch gets them exercising which later helps them focus on lessons after recess has ended.
The city map rug and wooden cars have also been a big hit! My students enjoy using their imaginations and "driving" their cars all around town.
Lastly, we made cute picture frames with photos inside as gifts for our families this winter. The foam precut stickers made it easy for each of my students to successfully create a precious memoir for their family.
Thank you once again for your donation! You have helped to make my class happy in spite of the wet weather!”

Funded Oct 11, 2022Thank you so much for providing my students with portable desks and cushion seats! My students were so excited when they saw them and couldn't wait to try them out. Now that we have these desks, my students are able to meet in small groups literally anywhere in our classroom and even in our hallway. They use the desks when they are working together on a play during Reader's Theatre. My students also use the desks when they are having trouble seeing an assignment on the white board - they ask to sit closer to finish their work. The nice part is my students can set their work journal or iPad right on the flat table section of the desk and work comfortably anywhere! They love the desks and cushions and use them every day. These items have added flexibility, comfort, and fun to our classroom.”
