Organization to the Rescue!
Funded Apr 6, 2023Let me begin by saying THANK YOU again for your generous donation. The seat sacks are perfect! They have helped my students organize their workbooks, daily supplies, folders, crayons, white boards and more. Their desks have become clutter free. They are now taking ownership and being responsible for their learning space. Most importantly, they now have more time learning, growing, and collaborating with their seat partners.
My students were more than excited as I opened the box and showed them the seat sacks. We made a chart of how the seat sacks would help them stay organized. Here are some of the responses: we now everything we need at our seat, we can easily find our materials and books, no more wasting time looking for stuff. We also discussed what belongs inside our "new" space.
Moving forward, the seat sacks have transformed my class into an efficient learning environment. It's amazing how the students now take pride and carefully put things away neatly, quietly, and quickly. I love seeing that everyone is on task throughout the day. They now have everything they need at their fingertips.”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Legos for Learning
Funded Oct 11, 2022The lego steam park and tech machines legos are amazing. The students worked in teams of four to build and explore the different lego activities. When they first started the different projects, they followed the direction cards. As they became more familiar with the different pieces, they ventured out and built and created a variety of their own designs.
Building with LEGOs encouraged teamwork, collaboration, and engaged in conversations as they shared their ideas and creativity. Using LEGOs, they strengthen fine motor skills and develop their visual perception. Here are a few of their comments: we had so much fun following the directions. Our Steam Park looked just like the lego paper. I learned how to use a screwdriver to put the parts together.
Due to your generous donation, I purchased two lego tables. The designs they built now had a home base. The tables were perfect to keep the legos organized and kept their designs on display for the class to view. The students were able to share their thinking as how they built After seeing their designs”

Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you again for your generous donation and supporting our classroom project. The Answer Boards, Let's Talk Box, Magnetic Write and Wipe Poster, and Spinner have had an enormous impact on my students during distance learning.
My students were able to pick up their own answer board. We use them daily during our ELA and Math instruction. I ask questions and the students are able to hold up their boards and show me their answers. Minute by minute, I know exactly who's grasping the concepts being taught and who's not. It is the best interactive and effective strategy for instruction during distance learning. The students love them and have fun using them.
The write and wipe poster provides the students with our learning goals, daily schedule, and daily reminders. We read/ review it throughout the day.
During our closing meeting I pick a question from the Let's talk Box and use the spinner to see which student will answer the prompt. This is their favorite activity! They must answer the question in a complete sentence and provide details. While building language skills, they share their feelings and ideas. They are so excited when their name is chosen.
The Spinner is a perfect engagement tool. I use it to randomly pick students to answer questions during our literacy and math lessons. It is also used to for classroom activities and choosing class rewards.
Although distance learning is challenging, your generous donation and the purchase of the above products, has helped making distance learning engaging and fun for my students.”

Funded Dec 28, 2017Thank you again for your generous donation and supporting our STEM classroom project. My students are becoming avid engineers using the Engineer-A-Coaster and Create-A-Path Magnetic Center. And of course, using the Stand-Up Magnetic Write and Wipe Board which is essential for this project.
The students are using the Engineer-A-Coaster, experimenting by trying to find the best solutions, while explaining their thinking, through trial and error. They now have extensive knowledge regarding gravity, speed, and motion.
While using the Create-A-Path Center, the children work in teams. They first need to design and draw their own path. Then, execute their design and discuss what happened, did their design work, what changes, if any, need to be made. Their ideas are getting more complex as they become more familiar with the process.
I have created a space in my classroom for these STEM projects. The children now have access to the tools needed to explore, collaborate, and problem solve engineering activities. These hands on materials allow them the opportunity to build together and learn from each other.
Your support and donation has provided my class the opportunity to continue our creative STEM projects.”

SmartBoard...Here We Come...Ready, Set, Go!
Funded Apr 11, 2013Thank you so much for supporting my project! I cannot wait to share the good news with my students. I know they will be just as excited as I am.
The software you purchased will have a definite impact on their learning. I know my students come to school eager to learn and using technology is the icing on the cake. Your generous gift will be a great value to my classroom today and in years to come. Each year, I will share with my students, that a very generous man named Robert donated these Smartboard games to our classroom. Honestly, I can't think of a better way to make learning fun especially with the implementation of the Common Core Standards.
Robert, I cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness, generosity and strong belief in education.”

Teaching with Technology
Funded May 14, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donation. As you can see, these valuable tools are in the hands of my students. They are actively engaged in learning while having fun. Helping students build a love for learning is a key to their success. They love using technology and are instantly focused.
While using the "Hot Dots" pen and Word Wiz the students are able to reinforce phonics and reading strategies that are taught and develop a love for reading. We all know, readers are leaders.
Again, thank you for helping share my wish by bringing technology into my classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reid
