  • We Want the Web Please

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

My students and I want to give you guys a big "High Five" for supporting our project and believing in education. Our class just adores our new laptops and are always asking me if it is their turn to go and either type up an essay or take a reading test online or do research on a current topic that we are studying. This project has helped to spark my student's interest in more ways then one. Now they have the tools to research something that we are learning about or even a burning question that they need an answer to. Thank you once again for supporting our project and my students hope to one day be in a position to help fund another classes future project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woo

  • Differentiation with Technology

    Funded Oct 11, 2013

My students were ecstatic to receive the I-pods from your thoughtful and generous donation. We unfortunately are located in an area where many students do not have access or the financial freedom to purchase this type of technology so naturally they were elated to know that they would have the entire year to play with and manipulate the I-pods.

My student's favorite part of the school day is Independent Work Time. During this designated learning period, my students have the opportunity to use the I-Pods to play learning games or applications. For some students, they can review basics in grammar, spelling, and especially basic math computations. For my Gifted Learners, they can do research for reports, make a photo journal, or challenge themselves with rigorous brain teasers.

This project helped to elevate my student engagement time. With their anticipated excitement to get their hands on the I-Pods, to either get to the next level in a learning game or to research a problem to conduct a science experiment. My students are motivated more than ever because technology is fun and more importantly part of their future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woo

  • Invigorate Learning With Tablet Technology

    Funded Jan 31, 2012

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donation to my classroom. The Tablet that you donated has helped invigorate my students to learn new things every day. We've used the tablet for review of skills of the core learning standards and have also used them to challenge students currently working at grade level.

Our school is currently facing a budget crisis, so without your contribution, my students would never have had the opportunity to utilize this necessary technology. Students today are surrounded by technology and it is important that learn to embrace it for learning as well as for fun.

Without such thoughtful and generous donors like you, my classroom along with thousands of others in the United States would go without. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Woo

There are many reasons why I believe that an interactive tablet is desperately needed in my classroom. First, the students crave technology; they use it every day, and are more tech-savvy than most adults. Secondly, my students learn best when they have an opportunity to see and visualize what they are learning about, and a tablet will do just that! Third, having an interactive tablet will make learning real and relevant for my students.
