  • Hands-on Learning at Home II

    Funded Sep 24, 2020

Thank you for your generosity and kindness! My students were so surprised to receive colorful bags full of home resources to use during their home days. Their eyes lit up as they took a peek inside them.

Every morning we use our whiteboards and erasers for phonics. They love to use them during math to help make a quick model with their cubes and counters. Of course the dice are a big hit and can be used in multiple ways.

Because of your donation, we can continue learning at home with all of these wonderful resources. The children were so excited to hear the resources are theirs to keep!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Streaming Live Instruction!

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

Your generous donation allows me to be mobile in the classroom or at home during remote teaching. I've been able to stand to use the whiteboard easel during the lesson because of the camera. With the stand, I can use the webcam as a document camera during writing so that the children can watch me model writing. The image the children receive is clear and stable, unlike when I had to hold the computer up for them to see. The children were so excited to see how I set up the camera and said it was easier for them to follow along. Thank you for all your support!”

  • Sight Word Learners!

    Funded Aug 18, 2020

Thank you for your generosity and kindness! My students were so surprised to receive colorful bags full of home resources to use during their home days. Their eyes lit up as they took a peek inside them. Our sight word books act as a personal interactive word wall, and they love the quick activities. The interactive phonics books are a huge hit as they cut, sort, and paste and not just fill in a workbook page.

Your amazing donation has provided an extra resource for my students to succeed at home.”

  • A World Apart, But Distance Learning Together

    Funded May 9, 2020

We are switching to Google Classroom this coming year, and all my teacher created resources I made were for Seesaw. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has allowed me to purchase digital resources for Google Classroom. I have been able to spend more time on instruction and individualized needs, instead of recreating all my resources. Some of the resources will help develop their phonic skills, reading comprehension, and basic math strategies in a fun and interactive way.

My students love to interact with different resources. They are fully engaged in the different phonics and reading interactive resources I was able to purchase. They LOVE the colorful visuals and ease of being able to complete their tasks on their own.

With the new incoming first graders, I am excited to teach them how to use these digital resources. Technology will play a massive role in our blended classroom this coming year. Each child should be able to feel they can accomplish learning tasks at home, and with your generosity, I can provide them with engaging activities.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Sight Work Readers!

    Funded Nov 3, 2019

We are busy building sight word puzzles and learning new words each week in our activity workbooks. The sight word sentence building center is a big hit! The students love making silly sentences if they can. Each activity is supporting our learning in a fun and exciting manner.

My students could not contain their excitement when we opened the box and saw all the new resources. One student said, "Oh wow, we can use these sight word puzzles tomorrow for Fun Friday!!", and everyone cheered.

We will continue using these resources to build our sight word vocabulary, which will help us develop our reading and writing skills. My students would like you to know that your kindness is appreciated! Thank you for your support.”

    Ms. Austin

  • Calling All Bookmaking Experts!

    Funded Aug 19, 2019

We have been so busy using our different paper sources and loving every moment of it. I was able to create reading response books so the children were able to look back at their work to develop and build on their understanding of our common core reading. The children were so excited to get their books. One child said, "this was the best", as he watched me make some of the books. We even used some of the lamination for our photo faces to use with our class mood meter. Our next step is to turn our small moments we have worked so hard on into amazing books with the bindings.

When I opened the closet and showed the stacks of colored paper their eyes light up. They were so excited about all the projects we could do with it all. Then there were a million questions about what we would be making and some suggestions on things they would like to do with the paper choices.

We are continually creating writing pieces. Our next unit focuses on How-To writing. My students will be thrilled to learn we will be using some of the colored card stock to create different artwork. They will write about the materials they used, and each step needed to complete the project.

Without your support, our writing projects would not be as rich. We would not have the supplies needed to create books, art pieces, and so much more. I greatly appreciate your generosity and kindness, as do my students. In our classroom, we practice sending kind wishes to others, and they wish that you have a beautiful day!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Reduce the Noise!

    Funded Mar 22, 2019

We are beyond grateful for your contribution to our classroom. Now we can use all of our iPads because we have these colorful headsets, and it is a huge advantage for my students. They can maximize building their phonic skills without distractions from others on different tasks. We are a multi-language classroom and need extra supports to enhance and reinforce our literacy skills. And these headsets do just that!

The children were so excited upon entering the classroom after lunch to see a pyramid of boxes. They were cheering and eager to put the new colorful - blue and purple - headsets to work. We had a special 20 minutes of screen time, just to give them a try.

A few children have made it their job to make sure the headsets are well taken care of. They distribute the sets with pride and collect them with care. These headsets are very special they tell me!!

We truly appreciate your kindness, so we can enrich our skills as 21st Century Learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

    Funded Aug 30, 2018

We have been so busy using our different paper sources, and loving every moment of it. I was able to create reading response books so the children were able to look back at their work to develop and build on their understanding of our common core reading. The children were so excited to get their books. One child said, "this was the best", as he watched me make some of the books. We have used card stock to make our classroom goal banner, letters for senior citizens on Thanksgiving, and for art projects in math. We even used some of the lamination for our photo puzzle pieces to show we all fit together. Our next step is to turn our small moments we have worked so hard on into amazing books with the bindings.

When I opened the closet and showed the stacks of colored paper their eyes light up. They were so excited about all the projects we could do with it all. • Parent Club Supports Their Children's Language Learning!

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

My students have been learning to use the new family engagement language arts kits so they can share them with their parents at home. They have been busy identifying letters, finding opposites, building their sight word vocabulary, and retelling with the kits. My students have been very eager to bring a kit home to show their parents what they know how to do. They have returned to school to tell about their experiences. I'm excited about their eagerness as they need this support at home to help reinforce their skills. They are using the sight word stamps to practice spelling the words.

When the boxes first arrived, the students were very curious about what was inside. I opened the rack for the language kits first and the questions started. "What's that for?, Do you put things in there?, Is it more games?" they called out. They were delighted to see the different language kits and even more elated to find out they could take them home. At our parent meeting, I announced that our project was funded and the materials had arrived. The parents expressed their gratitude towards your kindness and generosity.

These materials will be used for years to come! The home engagement kits are extremely helpful for my families learning a new language. As my monthly parent club grows each year these resources will provide the support my families need to support their children at home.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin
