Funded Sep 10, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity. My classes are getting good use out of all the supplies. The children were most excited when I opened up the puppet theater and set it up. They couldn't wait to get started creating their own puppets using the beautiful clipboards. The beautiful cushions are the perfect addition to our classroom it allows the children space to be creative to sit in different places around the room. The classroom looks so exciting and inviting. Every time you enter all due to the new supplies.”

Help us STEAM into Science
Funded Mar 3, 2017Words cannot describe how grateful we are for donors like you who have helped us reach our classroom goals. The new computer has helped our classroom explore so many new things. Fifth grade math can be challenging. However, with the the new computer we were able to engage in many online math tutorials and videos. Students were able to complete a problem of the day, step by step math explanations, and math tutorials.
In addition we were able to view beautiful and engaging science documentaries. The children also loved projecting their science slideshows on the big screen. Thank you again for all your help and support.”

Funded Oct 18, 2016Words cannot describe what a huge impact the new technology has made in our classroom. Since receiving the new material we have completed many wonderful projects. The students created travel brochures, published their narratives and created wonderful presentations about the rain forest.
My class loved researching the natural wonders of the Western Hemisphere. One of their favorites was Angel Falls. They printed images and included interesting facts into a travel brochure for potential tourists.
Our fictional narratives were finally completed and published. Without the extra computers it would have been impossible for 28 students to all type and print their work in the classroom.
Thank you again for your generosity and consideration. The technology has been put to good use.”

Research, Create, Print, Accomplish! From Fourth To College!
Funded Dec 2, 2015Words cannot express how grateful I am to all of you for making this project a reality. Our Chromebooks and printer are up and running. It was so wonderful to watch how excited our class was to receive the boxes. The excitement grew even more as we opened the boxes and connected to the internet.
In such a short amount of time the students have already completed at least three projects. The most amazing part of this reality is how I am learning along with the children. They have become experts at Google Docs and Google Slides. While working on their computers they have several tabs open as they research and import images and documents.
One of the most rewarding projects so far has been the creation of their Ecosystem multi-media presentations. Students researched, created and presented a multi-media presentation to their fellow classmates.
I am so thankful for your commitment to helping our children prepare for the future.”

Math Madness!
Funded Jul 3, 2012Words cannot express how grateful I am for the amazing Math Games. Through your donation I have been able to bring excitement in our sometimes long and rigorous school days. My First Graders eagerly compete their morning math work to get a chance to explore all the amazing Math Games and manipulatives. Their little eyes light up every time I introduce and open a new package.
I have been also been able to use the games with my small group of at-risk Fifth Graders and their excitement has been equaled if not greater than my little first graders. This amazing experience has would not have been possible without your generous donation and dedication to our youth. Thank you again.”

Reading Rug
Funded Apr 16, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donation. The children were beaming with excitement when the rug arrived. They anxiously waited as we pulled off the plastic and unrolled the rug. They couldn't wait to sit on it. As you can see in the pictures they were ecstatic to sit, roll and play on the rug.
Before we received the rug the children would sit on small foam tiles which left their legs on the cold floor. They would complain that they were uncomfortable and wanted to sit back at their seats. However now with the rug they can't wait for the opportunity to spend their day there.
They read, play math games, and every now and then I find one of my Kindergarteners trying to take a quick cat nap.
Thank you again for taking the time out to consider our small classroom in Queens, New York! ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Velez
