  • With Unifix Cubes and Comfortable Seating Solving Problems Is Fun

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

    Thank you for your generous gift of the Unifix Cubes and Pillows for mathematical conversation, mathematical models, comparison of length and addition and subtraction to 120 Unifix Cubes. My students are excited and using the Unifix cubes on a daily basis in Math to make sense of the mathematical word problems.

    Also, they hold mathematical conversations around the room using their math text books and the Unifix cubes and pillows to come up with a mathematical solution.

    The pillows are so comforting to my students they really enjoy sitting on them more comfortably while making sense of math, through partner share discussions.

  • Fun With Language Arts Activities

    Thank you very much for all the Language Arts games and materials. My students really appreciate it. They are excited to learn the latest games which will intern help them learn how to spell and sound out words. This is the foundation to the basic skill of reading.

    They were excited to see all the Language Arts activities and this engagement will help them progress in learning their reading foundational skills.

    Thank you very much for your generous gift and there is now continuous learning Language Arts centers full of scholars in my class which look forward to learning by manipulating the various games, CVC words and learning their sight words with the popcorn cards.

It is very important that the foundational skill of counting be practiced everyday because that way students will develop a very important skill that will always be with them in their personal lives.

    By counting everyday, especially with such engaging games and materials, it peeks my students interest and they look forward to it daily.

    My students were excited to see all the math materials. They were especially surprised by the counting dinos. They are excited to count, sort and add and subtract with them.

  • Building Math Fluency While Playing With UNO Cards

    Thank you very much for the UNO Cards which are helping my students learn their addition and subtraction skills. They use them almost daily.

    In my class, my students were excited to use the UNO cards to learn their addition and subtraction facts in a fun way while developing their number sense skills and fluency.

    They are fully engaged as you can tell from the photos sent and it is because of your generosity that they will learn more proficiently their math facts.

Their listening center needs improvement as they enjoy listening to Dr. Seuss especially enjoyable are the fun rhyming style. Their school can not currently afford to purchase new items to upgrade their listening center nor purchase writing materials at the kindergarten grade level. My students are self motivated to learn more and improve their writing, improve their sight word knowledge, and listen to different books at their age level. These materials will further help all levels of learning in my class from the advanced to the emerging learners and will further help them develop their writing skills through the use of the amplified auditory devices of a sound phone.
