Let’s Get Cooking in Pre-K!
Funded Sep 19, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our classroom's new kitchen set. Thanks to your kindness, our preschoolers now have a vibrant space where they can explore, imagine, and learn together through play.
The impact of this kitchen set has been incredible. Every day, I watch the children eagerly gather around, each taking on roles like "chef," "server," or "customer." This simple act of imaginative play has blossomed into so much more. The children are practicing language skills by talking to each other and learning new vocabulary, problem-solving as they work together to prepare "meals," and developing fine motor skills by handling the play utensils and food.
Beyond the tangible skills, this space has encouraged our little learners to develop socially and emotionally. They're learning to share, take turns, and understand each other's perspectives—all invaluable lessons for young minds. It has been a joy to see shy students open up, become more confident, and make friends, all because they have a common, safe place to play and express themselves.
None of this would have been possible without your generosity. You have made a lasting difference in our classroom, bringing joy, growth, and imagination into our daily routine. From all of us—thank you for making this gift a reality!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ardine

Funded Aug 24, 2015I cannot begin to thank you enough for donating to my class project. With the funds, my students now have access to two brand new iPads and headsets that let them access technology in the classroom. The iPads have been helping my students learn in many ways (but they don't know that... they just think they're having fun!)
Students are using different applications to practice skills such as tracing letters and numbers, reading along with stories, listening to music, and letter and number recognition. It's very exciting to them, and to me as well. It's a great feeling when I hear a student exclaim, "Hey, I know that song!" or "I know that letter!" during a lesson, because they remember it from a game they played on their iPad.
This technology is also teaching them independence, because when they are using the iPads, they need to be able to follow the directions on the screen with minimal support from me. But it isn't completely in isolation, because students will often grab a friend nearby to show them something that they found exciting while playing.
Overall, it's just been a really great experience for me and all the students in my class. It's definitely one of the top center choices during center time!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ardine
