Dear Donors,

I really want to thank you for taking the time and effort to make a generous donation towards my classroom laptop. Since my students are English learners and come from lower income homes, as well as shelters they are very limited in the technology they have access to. The laptop you helped fund was very needed in my classroom. With growing numbers of students per teacher, it is impossible to give each child a turn on the computer when there are only two computers available in the classroom. They haven't been missing out on technology as much anymore. Thanks to all of your wonderful donations, they have had the opportunity to use a computer at least twice a week now.

My students have been able to use our new computer to work on enhancing their English skills. They use it with animated programs that help them learn new words, expand their vocabulary as well as help them become fluent readers. They also use the computer to improve their mathematical reasoning skills.

The computer has been used by my students in a variety of different ways. They use it individually, as well as with partners and in groups. Its used in a center during my Universal Access Time as well. I also use it to project pictures, lessons, as well as power points to the children as a whole group. This computer has made their lives more technologically advanced.
