Cultivating Compassion One Rock at a Time!
Funded Dec 19, 2018Thank you so much for funding my project! In a world today when so many are rushing about and often rude in the process, it is good to take a moment and reflect. To remember to be kind. My students loved painting inspirational messages on rocks to place inner garden. The pens are ideal for writing on all types of surfaces, especially rocks! After struggling to write legibly with a paintbrush, these pens made all the difference. The children were much more creative in their decorations and messages on their rocks.
When the pens first arrived, the excitement was palpable. The kids could not wait to get their hands on them and begin creating rocks with inspirational messages. Now, as students walk to class, they can read the messages of kindness in my garden. Whenever a student is having a hard day, he/she can go to the garden and choose a rock to remind him/her that he/she is worthy, that tough times never last, and that they are loved.
Compassion and love starts with children. Thank you for providing me the opportunity to encourage children to spread love and compassion, gratitude and kindness.”

Funded Mar 26, 2012Where do I begin? You have helped make a dream come true! This is the generation where technology is taking over, the ability to document research in a digital form is invaluable. These cameras are just the thing. Unfortunately, we were funded after my original project was complete, BUT my students were able to film using digital camcorders and edit their work on the computer. This experience further solidified my belief that every child needs the opportunity to document work with the use of camcorders and editing skills gained on the computer. Because of your generosity, Next year I will be able to provide more students with digital camcorders, and the benefits they provide.
Thank you for your belief that education is a long-term investment. These cameras will serve not just a few students, but many more to come.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pastoriza-Plukas
