Plant 100 Trees
Funded Nov 10, 2021The beautiful quality books have simply been an inspiration to our students. The variety has been enjoyed by our younger and older elementary students. The students have not only learned facts about trees, but also been moved by stories about how people have respected and promoted trees.
These books have been the fuel to our School's centennial anniversary project: We Dream of Green - Planting 100 Trees. The stories have motivated our students to use their gained knowledge to advocate for more green space in our local community. As a result, so far, we have over 30 trees planted and cared for and we are hopeful that more will be planted to meet our goal.
The books have also allowed our students to appreciate the trees we already have in our community. To celebrate our project, we will have schoolwide events for Arbor Day and also apply to become a certified K-12 Tree Campus. Our community and the world is a better place thanks to your generous gifts. We cannot thank you enough.”

Funded Feb 9, 2018We are sending greetings as we end another school year and wanted to extend our gratitude towards supporting our students with your generous gifts to our Learning Center.
We are constantly thinking of ways to create a learning environment appealing to our young learners and the beanbags and wobbly stools have indeed added to the appeal. The students continue to visit The Learning Center to seat themselves on "fun" and "comfortable" furniture to read or work on assignments. Students are so comfortable that they forget the time! The positive student comments about the room environment do not seize, making The Learning Center a "cool" place to learn. The students get a chuckle when they see the principal also enjoying sitting on the wobbly stool!
We have all been taking care of the furniture and look forward to having them for years to come.
Thank you for your kindness and adding smiles and joy to our students' days at school.”

Funded Apr 11, 2016Our four Bee-bots buzzed into our Learning Center just a few days after the project was fully funded! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I was so excited to share this fun learning tool with the students! The cute Bee-bots are engaging, fun, and make learning effortless. They have infused a learning environment filled with hands-on cooperative learning. It is a delight to stand back, observe and listen to the children engage in discovery and problem solving discourse as they find solutions to their programming challenges. They sound like little scientists!
As mentioned in the grant, STEM and robotics is a new learning experience for our school. Your support and the need to expose our students to 21st Century Learning have fueled our motivation to advance ourselves to the next level. Not only our students, but also our teachers have been transformed through your support. My colleagues have also become inspired and some have already incorporated the Bee-bots in their classroom.
Thank you donors for supporting public education and providing an equitable learning opportunity for our students.”

Small But Mighty - Elementary Students with an iPad Mini
Funded Dec 15, 2014We just wanted to send out a big "Thank You" to all of you who supported this Donorschoose project to provide our students with more reading and learning power through your donation towards an iPad Mini and a protective case.
Since its delivery to our school, the device has been used daily by students to test their reading comprehension skills and boost their reading powers by attaining successful scores on the web-based reading quizzes. The device has been used by many students to meet their reading goals. The students are very serious about doing well on their quizzes and express pride and joy once they meet their goals. The dozen English Language Learner students who visit our Coordinator's office to read and take quizzes on the iPad Mini have made significant improvements in their reading comprehension skills. It brings a smile to our faces to watch our students feel more and more confident about themselves as readers.
Thank you for helping to instill the joy and love of learning and reading in our children.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Amemiya

Funded Feb 10, 2014We have just finished our 2013-2014 school year! On behalf of our students, staff, and school community, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you for supporting our students' learning through your contribution toward the donation of 4 iPads to The Learning Center this school year.
Students were very, very happy to hear of the funded project, and once the iPads arrived, The Learning Center began to buzz with increased excitement. With the news of the new iPads, more students came to the Center to read and take online quizzes. Our school data show that we had more students participate in our web-based reading program this year compared to the previous last three years. Also, more students who were identified as academically at-risk read more books and met their reading goals this year. Hurray!!!
You may be wondering in what condition the iPads are in, and I am very proud to share that our students (ranging from ages 4 to 11) have taken very good care of the devices and, after four months of use, they still look brand new. Also, kindness spreads kindness, and with the news of the iPad donations, The Center received generous quantities of book donations, two iPad cases, and dozens of touch screen stylus pens.
As we reflect and plan for the next school year, one of our school's goals will be to continue strengthening our reading, writing, and mathematics instruction for all students through the use of technology. I cannot emphasize enough how your donations have already helped to contribute towards this goal. Thank you so much for your kindness and opening up your heart to support our children and public education.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Amemiya
