Out of 16 students, 15 of them come from low-income families where either both or one of their parents did not finish high school. The idea of being a scientist or even attending college is a distant dream for many of them. My class was formed in October due to class size rules. The district will fund the teacher but not the materials needed to teach or inspire. As my students are use to dealing without, we have made due, however it is almost impossible to teach science without the proper tools to do the experiments.
