Learning is Just a Click Away
Funded Nov 10, 2021With the mice generously donated, my students have been able to complete assignments more efficiently in class. My students have been enthusiastic about these new mice because they no longer have to fumble with their difficult laptop touch pads. Since the mice make using their laptops easier, many of my students have greatly improved their grades and have expressed their motivations to work on and complete assignments during class. Once again, thank you so much for helping my students become more productive in class and creating a better learning environment in my classroom!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 3 other donors.Becoming Socially Responsible Students
Funded May 15, 2017It was such an honor to receive all the generosity. I plan to create a film about local elected officials to understand the plans they have for our communities. I often find myself unaware of what is going on in our communities, and through this project I plan to become more aware to the political field. It was a shame to see the statistics that stated how low the participation of young people were, and through this project I want to start the change. We hope to have the opportunity with the new camera to interview many local officials from the community to the county. Thanks to all your donations I am able to bring awareness to politics to my peers. Through this we can change the statistics and the young citizen will finally be a priority to politicians. Once again, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.”

Let There Be Chrome
Funded Mar 9, 2016We were very excited when we received our chrome books because it was something that no one at school had access to. Our school does not have the latest technology, so these chrome books are very important to us.
My AP U.S. History class uses our new chrome books for our class projects, and studying for the ap exam. We use the chrome books every time our class meets. We use to use our cell phones whenever we needed to do research but now with the chrome books it is much easier and practical to do our class projects. These chrome books also helped us study for our ap exam because it allowed us to take practice tests at school. We are confident that we will surpass last years passing rate.
We hope that as a class and having a better passing rate than the previous years shows the administration that technology does improve our learning. We hope that we can set the example for other classrooms and that in the near future that the school can fund more chrome books in more classrooms.
We just finished our AP exam and feel very confident that we all passed, which in part is due to the chrome books! We know these chrome books will help the next year's classes and the classes after that. Mr. Garcia and all of us hope that we can get to the point where we have a 100% passing rate on our AP exams.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Gates Foundation & Think It Up Supporters and one other donor.Because History Matters
Funded Nov 5, 2015Our school is a title one school, The AP U.S. Government and Politics Crash Course books are a major resource for my students. Last year we had a 51 percent passing rate of the AP Government exam, which broke the school's record! Since our wonderful accomplishment, my students have been highly motivated to exceed last years rate.
My students were very happy when the books arrived! Our old textbooks are a bit outdated and do not have the current information. Many students in my AP Government class are taking multiple AP classes, their time is for studying is limited due to the fact that they have to study for other tests at the same time, this review book allows them to understand the material and understand the concepts faster. Students have expressed their delight that the new book condenses the information and presents it in a easy to understand manner. The books have review and practice exams, which are very crucial to the student's success. With the dedication of the students, and these new review books we are aspiring to drastically improve our passing rate.
As the instructor, I allow each student to check out the new review book to work on it at home. During class time, we review and discuss various units that students may not quite comprehend.
Thank you so much for the donation towards this project. We would like to extend our gratitude and say, "Thank You," from all of the students in my AP Government class and myself.”
