iPads To Inspire Creativity And Learning
Funded Dec 18, 2014As you can imagine, the ability to access iPad technology in the classroom during the school day is an amazing gift to all of the students in our room. The students eagerly look forward to any time they are able to use the iPad. We have used them to view science videos on YouTube during our study of ants, nutrition, weather, and animal habitats. Students individually access games and activities which bolster their acquisition of math, science, geography, reading and writing concepts.
This is a wonderful resource to have in a classroom that is small - portable technology at our fingertips!”

iPads to Learn and Inspire
Funded Jan 20, 2014We are very grateful for the gift of iPads for our classroom. We are in a very small room and do not have space for desktop computers. However, students sill need access to technology, and the small size and ease of use provided by iPads make them ideal. Also, learning opportunities are often free from the App Store, so there are many ways for students to learn on each iPad.
Having six iPads in a classroom of 26 students allows all students an opportunity to learn from this technology. Being able to access different programs on the iPads allows each student to discover subjects, books, and games that they enjoy- which allows for individualization of learning. Socially, they discuss the games and ideas they see and help each other with problem solving techniques.
The students in the this class love using the iPads and ask about them everyday. For some, it is their only access to this technology. This gift keeps on giving, and students will be learning using them for years to come.”

Technology To Teach and Inspire: iPads For A Tiny Room
Funded Feb 15, 2013Thank you all for your wonderful contribution to our classroom learning. The day we found out that our project had been fully funded, a cheer of happiness rang out from the class! We were so excited to have the opportunity to learn with iPads!
Since the day they have arrived, the iPads have been used for learning nearly every minute. We have used them for personal challenges, such as math or spelling games, reading ebooks that are very interactive, finding out more information about weather and world habitats, and sometimes, just for fun!
For this group of second graders, the iPads have made learning a blast! For years to come, more children will learn and grow with this technology. You have each made a positive difference at school for children for years to come.
Thanks again,”

Support Materials For Insect Science Unit
Funded Feb 5, 2010I want to thank you for your generous gift. My school district provides for a bare bones science experience studying insects. I have had to supplement through the years with my own money to provide books and hands-on materials to make the learning of science come alive for my students.
With your gifts, my students are immersed in butterfly and insect science with books, music, science videos, puzzles, art supplies, and puppets! They love to learn from all of these hands-on activities. More importantly, I see them really understanding the material. They understand the life cycle, different kinds of butterflies, where they live, and how they are important to us. I see ecologists in the making! Three cheers for science!
Thanks again! You have made a difference in the lives of children.”

Funded Dec 31, 2009Thank you so much for your generosity towards my students. Your gift has helped them become more excited about math and learning. My students see math as a fun adventure because of all of the hands-on resources you have provided.
They love the books, games, an pattern block puzzles. The number lines help my struggling learners keep up with their peers. The fancy calculators which show calculations vertically are the biggest hit of all! The students love to see the answers to the equations they experiment with.
You have made a difference in the lives of children. Who knows how many future mathematicians there will be because of your gift!”

We Love Rocks!
Funded Oct 23, 2009How can I thank you for your generous gift? I hope you can begin to see how amazing you are by seeing how much my students are enjoying the rocks and books you have provided.
Our district asks us to teach about rocks, but provides few extra rocks for our students to discover. Children love to learn about rock since they see them all around their world. When they can see rocks that are amazing or unusual, they begin to understand that there is a bigger world with amazing things to see and do.
They are already enjoying the six rock sets you a have provided. Their eyes light up as they wonder where they came from, and what they are used for. They see themselves as geologists, which is the goal of teaching a rock unit. They also love the wonderful books full of pictures and ideas about rocks.
You have made a difference in lives and learning of children for years to come!”

The Rock Museum Rocks!
Funded Apr 16, 2009Thank you for the wonderful gift you gave to my amazing students. They loved learning about rocks, and your gift allowed them to visit the best rock museum in the state or Oregon- The Rice Rock Museum.
If you look at the museum's website, you will find some of the amazing geological samples they have for students to see. What you won't see on the website are the faces of my students, the eyes open with wonder at the amazing rocks they were able to see on this trip. In the fossil room, we saw a baby dinosaur, a saber tooth tiger tooth, and even fossilized feces! In the petrified tree room, we saw hundreds of trees and learned that a tree can become a rock! In another room we saw Northwest gold, and in another, rocks that glow when exposed to black light! WOW!
They will be talking about this trip for years to come. You have made a difference in the lives of children. Thank you so much”
