I love providing my firsties with the opportunity for students to learn through hands-on activities. This project will provide our classroom with many supplies we need to incorporate hands-on activities throughout the year. Help me give my students science supplies for many unique hands-on experiences. They will be able to build their own personal terrariums, explore with magnets and weather. Hands-on science exploration is something that makes a difference in the engagement of students. Using the weather kit, my students will be able to use their interactive science notebook and cardstock to record our investigations on wind, seasons, temperature and clouds. Students will Analyze and record examples of interdependence as they make their terrarium. This will also help them understand the needs of plants. My class will also explore, predict and describe how a magnet can be used to push or pull an object. Confucius said " I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and understand." I believe this from the bottom of my heart and make many opportunities for my students "to do" in our classroom. This project will provide my students with so many great opportunities to learn and demonstrate their understanding hands on. We would be so thankful!
