No Paper Left Behind!
Funded Mar 8, 2020Thank you,THANK YOU!!! I am amazed and so, so grateful for your generosity!
Your support for my project will allow us to recycle our paper in creative ways, and shows our children that using our resources wisely is the pathway to maintaining our planet! Can’t wait to show you the results!”

Mrs. Borock
We've Got Mail!
Funded Oct 17, 2012Thank you all for your generosity and kindness in donating to my project! The mail center has arrived, and has quickly become a focal point of our classroom. The children LOVE to see their names on their own mailboxes, and have become avid writers so that they can 'send' themselves all kinds of documents - well, you can only imagine!
From a teacher's stand point, the mail center has helped enormously to cut down on the clutter and disorganization of papers, letters home, paintings, homework, etc., that quickly piles up all over our room. Now, with the help of the children, (who have learned to read each other's names so that they can have the job of being mail carriers-) we are all in order!
Again, thank you so very much for opening your hearts and wallets to realize this project. My students are little, but they have big ideas and dreams, and you have helped to lay the groundwork in fostering their sense of pride in the importance of their work.”

Mrs. Borock
This classroom project was brought to life by an anonymous donor and 8 other donors.Magnetic Attraction!
Funded May 19, 2012THANK YOU so much, dear donors, for the amazing difference that your generosity has made to the children in my class. The beads have helped them with their fine motor skills, sequencing, patterning, and counting; all in a way that they LOVE!
The jumbo magnetic letters are so vibrant and inviting that the children delight in using them to make BIG words! The magnetic blocks have enhanced their math skills, sparked their creativity, and facilitated their ability to work together in a cooperative fashion.
These tasks are among the most important benefits of attending Pre-K, and I thank you for enabling so many children who have so little to gain so much; quite frankly, I am awed by your kindness.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Wells Fargo and 11 other donors.Stick With It!
Funded Sep 21, 2010Thank you so very much for the joy and creativity that your donations have brought to our class. Since receiving the housekeeping set, the children have become the most avid sweepers and moppers! Sometimes its hard to imagine children debating about whose turn it is for the broom and the dustpan, but this is really what goes on in our class! In fact, even our school custodian has remarked at the difference a child-sized broom can make!
The creativity that your donation of Tacky Glue has enabled is also truly amazing. The children have made their own wooden statues, robots, nature collages, puppets, African hats, and much, much more. The amount of new vocabulary words that they have learned as a result of these hands-on creative experiences is astonishing, and with each successful creation you can see their pride and self esteem grow by leaps and bounds.
Again, thank you so for your kindness and generosity; you have made a BIG and very important difference in a lot of young lives that have had so little in the past.

Please Copy Us!
Funded Nov 24, 2009Thanks to you, our amazing copier has arrived! Both the children and I are very excited about the family literacy program that we are now able to put into practice. We have started out by sending home a phonics-based, pictorial alphabet that the children and their families have been taught how to chant. It is a very powerful and humbling experience to see the parents beaming with pride in the accomplishments of not only their children, but also themselves as they learn to read the English language. Many of the adults have never been able to go to school before, and they feel so privileged to have this opportunity.
I am so very grateful to you for your generosity in providing us with the copier and ink, and I look forward to being able to continue to teach what the children learn in school to their families. I wish you a very happy and healthy new year.”

Mrs. Borock
Dig In!
Funded Aug 22, 2009Thank you!! The amazing moon sand has arrived, and the children are having a ball! They eagerly await their turn in the sandbox, and have turned it into everything imaginable; from a construction site to an excavation site to a rather large serving of meatballs, a corps of snowmen, and of course grazing land for farm animals and lizards.
The fledgling vocabularies of my 4-year-old students are growing by leaps and bounds, as they work in pairs learning the important goals of pre-k; sharing, taking turns, using words instead of hands to resolve conflicts, and quite simply, learning how to work together harmoniously.
Your generosity has provided so much to our class, and I thank you for supporting the important work of pre-k. ”

Down And Dirty!
Funded Jan 29, 2009Thank you so very much for your generous, amazing, life-changing donation!
The vacuum has really and truly turned our classroom into a place where the children can work and play and feel comfortable and relaxed. It is such a pleasure to have the ability to clean the rug – and it REALLY, REALLY cleans!
As a result of having received the vacuum, we are now able to readily allow the children to use materials like play dough, sand, etc. without worrying that we will have no way to clean up the mess;
( in fact, in our photos you can see us playing in the mud! ) These messy materials are basic to the preschool curriculum, and provide the children with opportunities to develop fine motor skills and have meaningful language experiences in an exciting and developmentally appropriate manner. We have you to thank for this, and we are ever so grateful.
Again, thank you, and please know that the vacuum is now the envy of the entire second floor, and I am happily sharing it, thus its impact is even greater than planned.”

On the Cutting Edge
Funded Feb 26, 2008Thank you, thank you, thank you for furnishing our Pre-K classes with a functioning paper cutter! This will make a world of difference in our ability to provide the materials necessary for our children to make their own books; now every student will be able to work on their own alphabet and number books, individual photo journals, and their very first published stories. This is very, very exciting, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making such a difference. Truly, truly yours, Valerie B, Teache”

All Aboooooooooard!
Funded Jun 25, 2007Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation of a fabulous train set to the Pre-K at PS 79. As I am sure you are aware, summer is upon us and school will be finished in just a day and a half from now, but I can hardly wait to see the excitement in the childrens' faces when they come to school in September and see this wonderful train set just waiting for them to engineer. I am thrilled for the children, and excited to see how much they will benefit from working with the trains and tracks. Again, thank you for keeping us on track! Sincerely, Valerie Boock, PS x7”
