Ready to learn, energy abounds, and staying in front of the camera during virtual instruction was a challenge for a few of my little kinder friends. In those 130 days of virtual instruction, I learned a lot about their learning styles. There were students that were attentive at all times and always stayed in front of their Chromebook camera where I could monitor their on-task behaviors. There were others who had challenges staying seated in their chair, sofa, or floor during virtual instruction, but nonetheless, they got their work done. I'd call out, "Where are you? I can't see you. What are you doing? Come back in front of the camera." Yes, indeed, I got to know very well each of my students' needs in regard to their learning styles. So as my district began to plan for students returning to in-person instruction, I began to think about what can I do for my students whose constant body movement helps them complete their assignments. I came up with the perfect solution! A donation of bouncy ball chairs will allow my students to keep seated but also allow them movement and a multi-sensory learning environment. This will improve and increase student attention, and the bouncy ball chair will help the active student focus. The end result- academic achievement!
