This novel, The Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, will help struggling, emergent, proficient and advanced readers engage in a novel that is not only accessible but thought-provoking and socially relevant. We have selected it for a school-wide "Big Read" as it is a book that will hopefully give our faculty, staff and students a chance to engage in meaningful conversation and understanding regarding life and the choices we make (or don't make). As we move through this novel in verse, we'll have school-wide activities, questions and games related to the story to build community and create a culture of literacy.
