  • "First Graders Love Book Club"

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

I want to thank you for helping my class have access to chapter books so we can have an enriching "Book Club" in our classroom. After recess, my students come in and grab their books to sit on the rug together to read interesting stories. They use a "Discussion Ball" to take turns sharing their thoughts on the book in a comfortable space.

They are motivated and enjoy this time in class. We discuss story elements, the characters, and make connections to our curriculum. They also write in their journals and are able to analyze the text using evidence from the story. It is very impressive to see what these 1st graders are capable of doing.

Providing these books has really given them time to LOVE reading and also see the value of reading. Some students have let mew know that they have asked their parents to get more books by the same author. They have been inspired and have been exposed to different genres and authors to expand their home libraries as well.

Thank you again for donating money to purchase these books to my class! "Book Club" has become a favorite part of their day!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bass

  • Enrich our Curriculum Through Art, Photography, and History

    Funded Jan 18, 2012

I want to thank all of you for your generous donations! Our class is excited to enrich our curriculum with the opportunity to read about current events and articles that spark 4th graders interests! Students will become more aware of world events and better understand what is currently happening in the world. Our class is also looking forward to using the camera to document activities throughout the year! You will be able to view these photos on our class website! Thank you again for giving students an opportunity to make learning interesting!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bass

Our class consists of fourth grade students who are very enthusiastic learners. We are a Gifted Magnet, whose needs for students vary. Offering these students different opportunities for success enables them to grow and think "outside of the box" and embrace learning.
