I am fifty four years old but I still remember my fourth grade teacher reading stories to my class. Why do some memories stay with you while others fade? The memory of Mrs. Wilson and the "Wizard of Oz" books that she read will never be forgotten. At ten years old it made a major impact on me! Is it a coincidence that I ended up teaching the same grade in the same inner city? I am also a fourth grade teacher teaching in Philadelphia. Mrs. Wilson' s teaching has inspired my read aloud sessions with my students today.
