  • Adding Color to Our Work in TK

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for donating all these great things to my students. When they learned that our class project had been fully funded, they got excited and began to cheer.

My students enjoy creating beautiful pictures and writing fabulous sentences on the jumbo picture story newsprint paper we received. The colored lined help students write letters, words and sentences. The paper is large enough to draw big pictures and add details to it. My students enjoy sharing their work with their peers.

My students also enjoy using the colored activities I printed for them. Things in color just look so much more appealing. These activities are used during centers around the class. Activities include alphabet cards, shapes, colors, and numbers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Basic Supplies for TK Students

    Funded Aug 24, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class project. My students were so excited to hear our project was fully funded. They couldn't wait to use all the wonderful things we received.

My students enjoy using the double sided magnetic write/wipe boards. They use these boards daily to practice writing their names or to practice writing their sight words. They also draw and label pictures on these boards. They enjoy using the mini erasers to erase their work when they are done.

I personally like the easy grip triangular pencils. They help my students little hands get a good grip on the pencils so they are able to write with ease. Those students who need extra help with their grip, I add a writing claw to their pencil to help with the grip.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation to our class project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Virtual Technology Needed in TK

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class project. The IPad Pro has helped my students learn in many ways during our distance learning and through this pandemic. My students are able to view age appropriate apps to learn their ABC, colors, shapes, numbers, sorting and reading high frequency words in both English and Spanish to name a few. In addition, the apple pen has been very useful to model letter and number formation as well as matching objects that go together. I am also able to draw pictures and write sentences directly on the IPad.

My class was able to view educational videos such as nursery rhymes, songs and chants that help them improve their oral language and expand their vocabulary.

My students look forward to the new activities and lessons I provide with the IPad during our distance learning everyday.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Technology in TK

    Funded Oct 2, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class project. The IPad Pro has helped my students learn in many ways. My students were able to use age appropriate apps to learn their ABC, colors, shapes, numbers, sorting and reading high frequency words to name a few. In addition, they used the apple pen to practice writing their names, draw pictures and write sentences.

My class was also able to use the IPad Pro to view educational videos such as nursery rhymes, songs and chants that helped them improve their oral language and expand their vocabulary.

I had a group of 4 students who were having a difficult time learning their alphabet letters and sounds. The IPad allowed them to view fun engaging videos and apps to help them learn. By the end of the school year, they were able to recognize most of the letters and sounds of the alphabet.”

  • Materials Needed for Distance Learning

    Funded May 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class project. During our distance learning, I was able to use many of these resources during our Zoom sessions. Students really enjoyed using the variety of crayons to create and color pictures to enhance their work.

My students were so excited when I showed them all the wonderful things we received through Donor Choose because of your donation. Students were able to use the sea animal art supplies to create a beautiful and colorful ocean.

My students will be able to continue their learning in the summer through a variety of virtual platforms when they attend summer school. They will be able to use the skills they learned throughout the year and apply them to their new learning.”

  • Distance Learning in TK

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our class project. During our distance learning, I was able to use many of these resources during our Zoom sessions. Students enjoyed when I used the counting cones during our math lesson. They were able to tell me the number that was on the cone and the amount of scoops I needed to place on that particular cone.

My students were so excited when I showed them all the wonderful things we received through Donor Choose because of your donation. Although they were not able to physically play with the resources, they found joy in seeing them through our virtual learning and talking about it.

My students will be able to continue their learning in the summer through virtual learning when they attend summer school. They will be able to use the skills they learned throughout the year and apply it to their new learning.”

  • Creating Memories

    Funded May 14, 2019

Thank you once again for donating to our class project "Creating Memories". We have really put our camera and colored printer to work. I am able to print many activities in color which has helped my TK students learn their colors, shapes, numbers and letters.

One activity they enjoy exploring with, is sorting objects by colors. I printed a variety of colored mats and students collect objects around the room and place them on the matching colored mat. This is a great way for students to explore the room and learn their colors.

I have also taken pictures of students to add to projects they have worked on this year. One special project they enjoyed completing in the beginning of the school year was their All About Me book.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Start TK with New Materials

    Funded Jul 1, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to our class project. My students were so excited when we received all the wonderful materials I had ordered for our class. Their little faces lit up as I opened each package and showed them what we got.

My students use the pencils and crayons everyday. They enjoy drawing, coloring and sharing their pictures with their peers and myself. They use the scissors to work on their fine motor skills by cutting straight lines, curvy lines or zig-zag lines. The lacing cards also help my students strengthen their fine motor skills.

The trays are a great way for my students to learn patterns. The fruit, animal, and vehicle counters not only help them count but they also help them make patterns on the trays. My students will continue using these materials to help them add or subtract math problems in the future.”

  • Start TK with New and Exciting Tools!

    Funded Aug 3, 2018

Thank you so much for donating these exciting tools to my students. When they learned that our class project had been funded, they were very excited and eager to sit on a new rug and explore with the new materials they were getting.

My students enjoy building things with the soft blocks on the new rug. I hear so much rich vocabulary and dialog from my students when they are telling their friends what they build. They are also developing their social skills when exploring with the manipulatives they received. It has helped my students take turn and share all the wonderful resources you so kindly helped fund.

Having these amazing tools such as puzzles and play dough has also allowed my students develop their fine motor skills.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation to our class project.”

  • Dramatic Play in TK

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

Thank you so much for donating this incredible dramatic play area to my students. When they learned that our class project had been funded, they were very excited and eager for the dramatic play area to arrive.

My students enjoy playing in the kitchen area with all the play food, baskets and dishes. I hear so much rich vocabulary and dialog from my students when they are role playing. They are also developing their social skills when exploring in the dramatic play area. It has helped my students take turn and share all the wonderful resources you so kindly helped fund.

Having this amazing dramatic play area has also allowed my students to illustrate great picture of themselves playing and exploring in the kitchen. It has helped them add more details to their stories whether it's oral or written.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation to our Dramatic Play area project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

My students attend a Title One School and come from a low social - economic background. Ninety-eight percent of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Due to continuous budget cuts, school supplies are limited. Despite their unfortunate circumstances, they enjoy coming to school and are always eager to learn. This writing center will allow them to use their imagination and develop a strong foundation for writing.
