  • Let's Learn Through Play in UTK!

    Funded Sep 29, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Because of your support, my students now have access to these amazing resources and supplies that will enhance their learning throughout the school year.

They use the letter tracing pad with reusable handwriting cards to practice letter formation and sounds. The dry erase pocket protectors are helping them practice a variety of skills, such as writing their names, tracing letters and numbers, and counting objects. The recordable answer buzzers allow them to hear the correct pronunciation of letters, sounds, words, and sentences.

My students were overjoyed to hear that our project was fully funded, and they couldn't wait to start using these resources to help them learn and prepare for the next grade. These materials will continue to support and challenge them as they grow and develop new skills throughout the school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Essential Supplies in UTK

    Funded Nov 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are now able to use these incredible supplies to enrich their daily learning experiences.

They love using the magnetic wands to pick up colorful chips while practicing letter and number recognition. The acrylic mini leaves, pumpkins, and acorns are perfect for making patterns and counting. The jumbo crayons are a hit, allowing students to create vibrant pictures and drawings. The city cars and trucks toy vehicles are being used to learn about community vehicles and workers. I'm also using the permanent markers on chart paper to make everything brighter and more visible.

My students were thrilled when they found out our project was funded, and they couldn't wait to receive these amazing supplies to support their learning. These materials will continue to be a valuable resource as we dive into upcoming lessons and activities.”

  • New Supplies for Students

    Funded Jan 15, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Because of your support, my students now have access to these amazing supplies that greatly enhance their everyday learning.

The short triangular pencils are helping my students practice writing their first and last names, while the mini sticks are being used to create letters and build various structures like houses and buildings, sparking their creativity. The left-handed scissors are making it easier for my left-handed students to cut paper more comfortably. Additionally, my students are learning to organize by hanging their sweaters and jackets on the kids' clothing rack. I'm using the permanent markers on chart paper to make everything more vibrant and visible.

My students were thrilled to hear that our project was funded, and they couldn't wait to receive these fantastic supplies to support their learning. These materials will continue to be invaluable as we move forward with our lessons and activities.”

My students are thrilled to have a new table where they can collaborate on various activities with their peers!

The foam shapes are a fantastic resource for sorting by color or shape, allowing them to engage in hands-on learning. Another fun activity with the foam shapes is creating patterns or counting them, allowing for both creativity and math practice. They enjoy working together in pairs on different tasks, fostering teamwork and creativity.

They're also using language to express their thoughts while working with the foam shapes with their peers, which enhances their communication skills. It's great to see them learning and collaborating in such dynamic ways!”

  • Colorful Work in Utk

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

Having colorful charts around the room makes a big difference when displaying my students work.

In the beginning of the school year, I teach students' how to color. Providing a color chart for my students is a great visual aid to help them understand the concepts of coloring and how to stay within the lines. It encourages them to compare their work and strive for improvement in a fun and engaging way.

The ability to print the chart in color with the donated ink makes it even more effective, as they can see the differences clearly. This approach not only helps them develop their coloring skills but also fosters a sense of self-assessment and growth.

I will continue printing samples in color in order for students to reference when needed.”

  • Be Creative Using Magnets!

    Funded Sep 13, 2024

My students were so excited to see all the wonderful materials you so generously donated to our class. Their little faces lit up when they saw the magnetic tiles with cars, the soft blocks and the color sort magnets.

Students enjoy going to the magnetic table during center time. They get so creative putting the magnetic tiles together to make a tower, a train, or a variety of other figures.

They also enjoy using the colorful soft blocks to build tall towers with their friends. I get to see and hear them use rich language to tell their peers what they build.

Students will continue to use these magnetic tiles and soft blocks to build new and unique structures and learn many skills such as creativity, problem solving, language and literacy, math and science.”

  • Supplies for UTK Students

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

My students were so excited to see all the wonderful material you so generously donated to our class. Their little faces lit up when they saw the construction paper, jumbo crayons, fishing set and craft toys to mention a few.

My students were working on a lesson about being bucket fillers vs bucket dippers. The construction paper was used to make the colorful buckets. Students were able to use the crayons to draw and color a picture of how they are bucket fillers. They enjoyed using the big jumbo crayons because they were easy to grip with their tiny little hands.

We will continue to use all these wonderful materials throughout the school year to create more wonderful projects.”

My students attend a Title One School and come from a low social - economic background. Ninety-eight percent of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Due to continuous budget cuts, school supplies are limited. Despite their unfortunate circumstances, they enjoy coming to school and are always eager to learn. This writing center will allow them to use their imagination and develop a strong foundation for writing.
