Teachers Helping Teachers
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you for your donation. Because of your donations, we were able to purchase several projects from Teachers Pay Teachers.
Our students have engaged in the following activities:
- solving one-step and two-step equations mazes on Jamboard
- matching equations to their solutions on Google Classroom slides
- matching equations to their solutions on Nearpod
- solving equations pixel art assignment (students solved equations and revealed a pixel art image - it was Olaf :-) )
Thank you so much for allowing us to access these projects and add so much variety to our lessons. We also shared the gift cards with the entire Math Team at East Side, so your donations have not only impacted the 8th graders but all other students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. George
This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 8 other donors.I Can't See The Line?!?!
Funded Aug 13, 2012Where do I begin? In this age of technology and national discussion on STEM having this new technology in my 8th grade classroom has been invaluable.
Over the years we have studied the concept of slopes. As a culminating activity we use the CBRs (Calculator Based Ranger) to have students create increasing and decreasing lines, predict and confirm slopes and equations of these lines, look for intersecting points of their lines... This has been a very hard task to coordinate as I have never had any graphing calculators in my classroom. It was quite hard to organize and lend these calculators in order to do this highly interactive, fun and educational project.
Having these calculators have totally changed how we do this project. I don't have to struggle to find calculators or waste time troubleshooting with nonworking calculators. These calculators work exceptionally well with the CBR, making this Math project an even more enjoyable experience.”
With gratitude,
Ms. George
The More Color the Better
Funded Dec 31, 2011Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am for your donation, even though our request was something some simple.
When I started off writing this proposal I thought of starting small; something small but essential to my students. Using these colored papers to keep track of student progress in class work and homework has caused a remarkable turn around in my students' grades. They are not losing these brightly colored sheets anymore and earning higher grades.
So on behalf of my students, I say a million thank yous to you all for your support of our 8th grade math classroom. ”
With gratitude,
Ms. George
