IPads will help my students reach higher levels, academically as well as emotionally. Once they are confident in their academic abilities, students will take greater risks and feel a sense of belonging. Our district is limited in technology budgeting. Sometimes students cannot use technology because none is available to them during the school day. Studies have indicated that programs like Lexia Core5 helped close the reading gap for more than half of the students performing below grade level by the end of the school year. These iPads could be taken home, where students could use them in case of the need to quarantine in the fall should arise.
