Running Hot and Cold
Funded Aug 29, 2006Thank you, thank you for your generous support of our science class. T
By using the temperature probes, the students will learn how science combines with technology, how to acquire and analyze data, and have fun doing it. We teachers have found that not only do our students have to learn about science content, but they also need to know how to use the equipment they will encounter in high school and beyond. Thank you for giving me this opportunity, and as a result giving my students a boost toward their futures.

Forensic Laboratory Science
Funded Apr 15, 2006Thank you for funding our "Forensics in the Classroom" project. Crime scene investigations really grab students' attention and with this equipment they will feel like they are doing the real thing. I am so excited about this project, and I know my students will enjoy the challenge. Thanks to you, a passion for science is being cultivated and encouraged here. Who knows where this passion could lead a student? I appreciate your caring about children and their education very much.

Focusing the Field Trip
Funded Apr 7, 2006Thank you for funding our field trip to Lincoln Park Zoo, and providing the cameras for our "scavenger hunt." This event will allow students to use the zoo for the purpose it was intended while encouraging them to use their creativity and thought to develop a scrap book of the trip. This book will include the pictures and the students' writing, demonstrating their learning and their good time! We would not be able to do this if not for your generosity. Thank you from all of the 3rd grade teachers and students here at Claremont.

Here a Chick, There a Chick
Funded Nov 26, 2005Thank you for your generous gift! Many teachers at our school have expressed an interest in teaching their urban students about life outside the city. Rather than read about it, or seeing a movie about it, this incubator will give the children the hands on experience of the birth of chicks.
I truly appreciate the way you care about children you don't even know, and want to improve their educational experience. The first class to use the incubator will be the Kindergarten but other teachers will take advantage of the equipment as well. Thank you again and again.
