  • The World of Color

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

This new color printer has been invaluable in my classroom. I am able to use it in multiple ways. I am able to take pictures of the students working together and print them out to display them in the classroom so that they see themselves all over the classroom. My students love seeing themselves around the room.

I have also printed themed color game mats for math and reading so that the children can practice the letters of the alphabet, sounds, and number recognition. They are having fun reviewing skills not even realizing that they are learning. This color printer has truly opened up a world of color for my students and we are all so grateful for your thoughtful contribution to our classroom. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kang

  • Innovation and Technology

    Funded Aug 9, 2024

Thank you for your generous contribution to my classroom! The new Mac Book has helped me an my students in so many different ways. I use it every day to plan my lessons and to make interactive slides for the lessons each day. I can really bring my lessons to life using videos and images that connect every day life to the things the students are learning.

All of my students love the interactive aspect of the lessons! Making the real connections. When learning about tastebuds, the students love taking a ride on the Magic School Bus and watching the detailed workings of our tastebuds. We can take a close up look at our tastebuds and learn that our tongues have different spots for different tastes and all those little bumps on our tongues have a purpose.

We will also be using our computer to publish a book at the end of the year. This new technology has infinitely enhanced our learning and we are so grateful!”

  • Brilliant Builders!

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

My students are loving building and engineering with the magnetic tiles. They are learning to problem solve and work together through play and building. We have built tall structures with wheels and we love stacking the tiles to see how tall we can make the structure. Building and playing is one of our most favorite parts of the day! The skills they building will last a lifetime for these students.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful generosity. The simple act of building teaches and the students so many social skills needed not just for school, but for life. I am truly enjoying watching my students build and come up with the many creative structures.”

  • Learning How Our Food Is Grown!

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Through this project, my students have learned to plant seeds to watch them grow. We started with adding the soil and watering the seeds daily. Giving them space to grow and carefully watching for changes every day. We are learning to be patient and how much effort and work go into the foods we eat every day without thinking. We planted carrots, bell peppers, pumpkin, and bell peppers!

My students were very curious and excited to see the projects, and they expected immediate results. They are learning the art of patience and how much care and love go into growing our food. Hopefully by spring we will have some fruit to pick and share. Our pumpkin has begun to sprout and root and we have been checking out the changes every day and are excited to be able to observe the process. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Building Future Engineers!

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class! My students were so excited to receive the building materials. Even though my students are young, they have endless potential to become whatever they want to be. Using the building tools that you have so generously donated, my students are learning to become engineers through play and learning without even realizing it!

We had a Marble Run Building Extravaganza the day before Thanksgiving break and we invited guests to come and build with us. We got to see first hand how resourceful and engaged the students were. Every single student was deeply involved in trying to build their marble run! They learned about structure and what makes marbles move and what happens when they get stuck! They had to problem solve together to figure out why their marbles stopped while in other parts they moved. They had to work together, communicate, and share their ideas and thoughts. This experience taught my students many invaluable lessons.

We used the directions as a guide to help us build and make the marble runs go. I think my class now would like an opportunity to build on their own, not following the guided directions, but using their imagination.”

  • Message Center

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation for my Independent Message Center. Because of your generous donation my students are able to independently gather homework, notes, and returned work from their own cubbies. When the Message center arrived and we unpacked it and put their names on their little shelves the children were so excited!

We practiced finding our own cubby every afternoon and they are now very skilled at going to their cubby and finding their things to put in their folder. It is a lot more organized and less frantic for us at the end of the day because I am not trying to pass out piles and plies of paper. The students know to check their cubbies at the end of the day before leaving class to get ready to go home. It also makes anyone leaving early easier and seamless! Thank you so much for contributing to my class!”

  • Calming Area

    Funded Apr 23, 2023

Thank you so much for funding my Calm Corner! My and I started using the Yoga cards and the breathing techniques right away! That light up puppy with the different colored lights help the children learn and practice various breathing techniques to calm their bodies and their minds.

When the supplies began arriving and we began unboxing everything we were all very excited to put the materials to use right away.

We are currently learning to use the materials together. The hope is that they will ask when frustrated to go to the calming corner to breathe and calm their minds on their own. We also used the legos to calmly work together to share are build together.”
