  • Evaluations on iPad

    Funded Aug 14, 2023

Thank you to each of you for helping fund this project! The students will love completing the special educations assessments on the iPad instead of pencil/paper. The case for the ipad is perfect for the students to access the keyboard as well. It will also be easier and more efficient for scoring the assessments. Thank you for supporting the Oklahoma public schools and more specifically special education in Oklahoma public schools.

Thank you for caring about the students education and future of the students!! Your kindness does not go unnoticed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Sensory Items Needed

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

T he wiggle seats are great to use when I am evaluating students. The students are able to move around while testing without it being distracting to the assessments.

When doing evaluations with children who are either young or academically challenged, the motion bead letters and numbers are perfect for seeing what the students know. These are perfect for students who have sensory issues to use as assessments or to hold during other parts of the evaluations.

The anxiety strips are placed on every student's desk in the red court classroom. A couple of students who the strips help them have strips they carry in their pocket around the school.

In the calming tubes, I have placed water beads for students to watch move up and down. One has glitter inside. The other two are set up as a find objects with rice.

Thank you so much for helping put items at the student's fingertips to help them be successful.”

  • Motivating ... One Student at a Time!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you once again for helping in with my donor's choose project. The items have impacted my school by allowing me to have a comforting area for testing students who have special needs. The fidget items allows the students to calm down or gain focus which allows them to test easier. The food items and pencils are a nice treat for the students as they finish a session of testing, as they are a reward for the student's hard work. Testing with me is not always easy on a student who has been struggling inside the classroom. Words can't express how much I appreciate every donor.”

  • Positive Learning Environment

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you for helping me make my classroom more inviting to not only my students but also my parents. The new rug adds a relaxing, comforting feel to my classroom. The students who come into my classroom have a variety of different needs.

Since the weather has been cold here, the bicycle is great for allowing students to get some of their energy out. It has helped the students focus more than anything I have ever had inside my classroom.

The students are always thankful for new writing utensils and play-doh. Using materials such as these two helps meet the needs of almost every student in the classroom. We learn so much using play-doh.

Thank you for making my classroom support my student's learning styles!!”

  • Engaging Classroom Activities

    Funded Dec 27, 2020

Thank you for helping fund my donor's choose project so quickly! We had just gotten into the actual school building and able to use our new items when an ice storm hit and caused us to be virtual again. For both myself and my students, this year has been very different than any other year.

We have been able to open our new items now and use them to learn math concepts that are difficult for us. The pop math game is great! It's engaging for the students as well as has a variety of math questions to help us practice skills.

The comprehensive question story cards has been a great tool to use while we were in virtual learning! It came just in time for that.

We can't wait to be able to explore all the other items.

    Thank you so much!!”

  • Individual Supplies in Special Education

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

The students were excited to see the individual erasers to go into their boxes. Not being able to share supplies makes it hard to eraser their boards with anything other than tissue. The littles have really enjoyed counting using the counting boards. We have used a variety of objects inside the boards to make it new and different each time.

Each day we have been breaking down a different number for the number of the day poster, giving the students a new challenge each time they come to class. Oh, and the sensory packs are just amazing for all ages! When things are hard or times are tough, the students will use the sensory packs to just hang on to. I have to clean these often because they are used often by so many. Every student and class needs sensory packs.

Thanks to all the donors who helps with my project!”

  • Real World Math Fun

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

The students were so excited when they same the math center games. Math can be hard for many of my students. When they can work on math in a fun way, it helps motivate them to try hard and have fun at the same time. It is great to have games for many different types of math areas from addition to division.

The Scholastic DynaMath magazines are a great way for my class to incorporate math and reading. Not only are we working on our education, but the stories are exciting and so interesting. The students love when we get a new magazine to read and see whats new inside. Plus, the stories are great for both girls and boys!

Thank you to every donor who helped fund my project! I appreciate each one of you!”

  • Fluency and Number Sense Going Hand2Mind!!

    Funded Nov 27, 2018

When the materials arrived, the students couldn't wait to see what was inside the boxes. As the materials were taken out of the material, the students looked the items over. They weren't really sure what they items were and had no idea how to use the materials. The students were excited to start using the materials to see how exactly they worked.

My students from grades kindergarten to the fourth have had the Rekenrek rod to help with addition and subtraction problems. It has been great for helping each student better understand the concept of adding and subtracting. My youngest student walks into the classroom, gets the Rekenrek off the shelf, and starts his math work. It's amazing to see the confidence in his eyes.

The students will continue using the number strings book (which came with the kit) and the Rekenrek rod. The number strings book has been great in helping the students understand different was to solve problems.

Thank you so much for helping my classroom receive the Hand2Mind products!!”

  • iPads in Special Education

    Funded Sep 11, 2018

First, I would like to thank each one of you for being donors and coming together to help our classroom have two iPads for our classroom to use. Having the two iPads in our classroom has allowed the students to practice new and old skills that are needed in an engaging, motivating way. The iPads are being used in the areas of both reading and math. In our classroom, we also have many Osmo products that the students are able to use with the iPads. Thank you again for donating to our classroom. My students and I appreciate each and everyone of you.”
