Physics for Middle School Students
Funded Mar 6, 2008Thank you so much for sponsoring this proposal. Physics can be a difficult concept for middle school students. Yet, it also can be very exciting. By providing hands-on materials, you are facilitating student engagement in high-level thinking. Thank you so much. We will put the supplies to very good use”

Astronomy Detectives: The Mysteries of Earth & Mars
Funded Jan 30, 2008Thank you so much for your generous sponsorship of Astronomy supplies. My class just embarked on a comparison study of Earth and Mars, so this timing is perfect! The students are anxious to now do some of the investigations that your donation will allow us to do. I am excited about the prospect of watching this excitement as my students explore Earth and Mars and plan their missions to Mars. Thank you very much”

The JASON Project: We Investigate Monster Storms!
Funded Jan 21, 2008Thank you so much for funding the "JASON project: We Investigate Monster Storms". My students are very curious about weather and climate, and are particularly interested in monster storms. The idea of monster storms is a great way to engage students in the study of the processes that determine our weather and climate. There are very exciting activities built into the JASON curriculum and we can't wait to start! Thank you”

Apollo Revisited: We Go to the Moon!
Funded Dec 14, 2007Thank you so much for funding this proposal. The NASA moon globes and other materials will enable my students to actively explore past and future moon landings. The moon globes really make this come alive for students! My class is very excited about becoming the next generation of explorers. Again, thank you very much!

NASA Explorer School: A Weather Hands-On Investigation
Funded Dec 11, 2007Thank you so much for funding this proposal! My students will become "weather detectives" as they investigate the forces that shape weather and climate. As you probably know, hands-on activities are so important to learning. I know that the funding you are providing will positively impact learning in my classroom. Thank you”

Out of this World! An Astronomy Modeling Experience
Funded Dec 6, 2007Thank you so much for funding this proposal! My students are very excited to begin using the materials. As you know, astronomy can be a difficult concept as students cannot touch and work with many of the things they are studying. However, the materials you funded will enable students to use a research-based (and very fun!) method of modeling in order to understand the components of our solar system. Thank you for providing hands-on opportunities for middle school students”

NASA Explorer School: Size and Scale of the Solar System
Funded Nov 17, 2007Thank you so much for funding "NASA Explorer School: Size and Scale of the Solar System". My middle school students have a challenging time understanding the size and scale of the solar system. The materials that will be purchased for my students will enable me to facilitate hands-on investigations that will greatly increase their understanding. In addition, students will be able to formulate and answer their own questions. Thank you for your very generous support of science and math education”

Electromagnetic Detective
Funded Nov 8, 2007Thank you so much for providing funding for spectrometers. My classes will now be able to study the electromagnetic spectrum with high level hands-on investigations. We will use these tools often and in future years. As a NASA Explorer School, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of explorers. Your support is helping to make that happen. Thank you for supporting science education”

Impact! A Meteorite Modeling Learning Experience
Funded Oct 21, 2007Thank you very much for providing funding for "Impact! A Meteorite Modeling Learning Experience." It is so important for students to learn via hands-on activities. We would not have been able to engage in this investigation without your generous support. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude. I am very excited about introducing this learning experience to my students!
