• Warm, Cozy, and Safe Advisory/Crew Time

  Wow—where do we even begin? The outpouring of generosity from you all has transformed our advisory space into a haven of warmth, comfort, and creativity. The sheer amount of snacks has been a game-changer—my students have never been so well-fed and energized for their day! Every morning, they eagerly scan the selection, debating between their favorites like seasoned snack connoisseurs. It's more than just food—it's a small joy that makes our time together even more special. And the knot pillow? Let's just say it has reached legendary status. Not only has it become the most coveted seat in the room, but students from other classes have openly admitted their jealousy. It's the perfect companion for reading, brainstorming, or just taking a much-needed moment to breathe.

  We also kicked off the new year with vision boards using the Mod Podge, and the results were incredible. The students put so much heart into their creations, setting goals for 2025 that ranged from academic ambitions to personal dreams. Seeing their visions take shape on paper—literally held together by your generosity—was a powerful reminder of how much impact a thoughtful gift can have. Your support has made our advisory feel like a second home, a space where my students feel seen, valued, and cared for. • Empowering Learning Through Inclusion and Care

  Thank you so much for your generosity in funding our classroom printer and snacks! These resources have made an immediate and meaningful impact on my students. The granola bars have been a huge hit, especially in the mornings when students arrive hungry and need a boost to start their day. Having a quick and nutritious snack available has helped them focus and engage in learning rather than being distracted by hunger.

  The color printer has been a game-changer in our special education classroom. Many of my students rely on color-coded materials to support their learning, and now we can print handouts that make information clearer and more accessible. This has been especially important in Global History, where maps, timelines, and primary sources often lose their meaning in black and white. Now, students can analyze full-color maps without struggling to interpret a faded grayscale key. Most recently, we've been able to distribute "Know Your Rights" pamphlets to help protect our undocumented students and families. The printer's speed has allowed us to get these critical resources into the hands of those who need them quickly.

• Warmth, Emotional Care & Hunger in Advisory Group

  I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in supporting our CREW space. The moment my students saw the massive boxes of Pop-Tarts, they were beyond thrilled! Teenagers are funny—somehow, Pop-Tarts have become a constant topic of conversation, so this was like a dream come true for them. We all agreed that one bag a day for each student is the perfect way to make the snacks last, and now, every day during our restorative circle, the Pop-Tarts take center stage. After everyone shares their emotional check-in, they eagerly choose their flavor, making it a fun and comforting ritual that brings us even closer together.

  We are still waiting on the picture printer but I'm sure it will arrive soOn!

  The Bearaby knot pillow has also been an unexpected star of our sessions. As our talking piece, it helps keep our restorative circles organized, but my students love it so much that they beg me to let them keep it afterward! It's soft, snuggly, and surprisingly grounding for them as they pass it around, helping create a space where they feel heard and supported. My only regret? Choosing such a light color—because of all the love it's getting, we may need to invest in another one soon! Thanks to your kindness, our CREW has a warm, welcoming space that fosters connection, reflection, and a sense of belonging every single day.”

• Creating Comfort: Flexible Seating for Restorative Circles

  Thank you for your generosity in making our DonorsChoose project a reality! The arrival of our new floor chairs and inflatable couches has completely transformed our advisory space. My students were thrilled when they first saw them, and their excitement has not faded. Every day, they eagerly settle into their comfortable seats, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for our restorative circles. Instead of struggling with rigid desks and chairs, they can now sit comfortably, focus on meaningful discussions, and truly connect with one another.

  These flexible seating options have made a profound impact on our advisory. They bring a sense of calm and ease to our restorative circles, allowing students to engage in deeper conversations and feel more at home in our space. Many of my students juggle numerous responsibilities outside of school, and having a place where they can relax, reflect, and support each other has been invaluable. We are incredibly grateful for your kindness and support—you have given us more than just seats; you have given us a space to grow, heal, and build community.”

• Mental Health

  Thanks to your generous support, our advisory group has been able to integrate the iPad into our daily Crew meetings, significantly enhancing both student engagement and digital literacy. One of the most impactful uses has been projecting our restorative circle lessons onto the classroom screen, making it easier for students to follow along and actively participate. Additionally, students have been using the iPad to create their Student-Led Conference slides—an empowering experience that allows them to take ownership of their learning and self-advocacy.

  We've also explored valuable digital tools, such as the Finch self-care app, which helps students develop mindfulness and stress-management techniques. The iPad's guided access feature has been a game-changer, keeping students focused and ensuring that they stay within the educational apps we use. Looking ahead, we plan to develop lessons on digital safety, equipping students with the knowledge they need to navigate technology responsibly. Your support has provided an invaluable resource, fostering both academic and personal growth for our students. Thank you for making this possible!”
