  • Laminating Success

    Funded May 18, 2024

    Thank you so much for your generous donation. It has truly made an impact on student learning and motivation. While I have always focused on fostering intrinsic motivation in my students, I've also observed that some level of extrinsic motivation can greatly support their efforts and achievements.

    The laminating machine has been a wonderful addition to our classroom. It has allowed us to preserve important classroom materials, certificates of achievement, and student work. The students are thrilled to see their work laminated, which gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment.

    Additionally, the stickers have been an effective tool in encouraging students to do their best. I distribute them to all students once or twice a week as a form of positive reinforcement. This small reward system has helped boost their motivation, though I continue to prioritize building their intrinsic motivation.

  • Rewards Motivate

    Funded May 7, 2024

    Thank you so much for supporting Rewards Motviate. This project has really motivated students in all subject areas.

    The pedometers have really motivated kids in physical activity and math. Kids are eager to walk around the school and then compare their steps. In class we compare, add, subract, and compare the number of stpes from least to greatest and so on.. There are lots of standards being meet. As well with the scale. Students weigh themselves and then we use the math standards to compare the numbers, add, subract, sequence and so on.

    The laminator is amazing. Student shave laminated their best writing and math activity to keep for ever. I have laminated their Qr-Codes, name tags, and number lines so they last all year. The stichers are given on Mondays to motivate students and Fridays to reward their hard work.

    The Alexa Echo is used to as a motivator in math. Students add or subract numbers and thenask Alexa if their answer is correct. I also use alexa for calming music, reminders, timers, and information. Students enjoy asking Alexa Questions.

  • Mathematicians at Work!

    Funded Dec 12, 2023

    I want to begin by thanking you for your donation towards our classroom. The classroom math supplies have provided students with tools to solve problems and to challenge their thinking. The large deck of cards makes it fun for students to add and subtract two/three -digit numbers. Students use the small cards and dice to create table math problems and games. The large bins are used to organize table math tools and are on each table for students to access tools as needed. The iPad is being used for district assessments and for students who need a touch screen to assess district apps.

  • First Grade Dual Language Math Instruction

    Thank you so much for your contribution to our class. Every item has made a positive impact on teaching and student learning. Students access the number line with pointers to add and subract numbers. I use it during whole group instruction to skip count, add one, take one, and so on,. The ten frame set is used during small group instruction. Students use the counters to visually see take from and add to .

    Students have made growth in base ten strategies to add numbers/subract to 20. The Answer Buzzers have been a huge hit. We learn concepts all week and on Fridays we have fun game day. Students are placed in four groups with four buzzers. I provide them with different math games and students use the buzzer when they have an answer or strategy. This has really encouraged students to participate during the week and complete home activities.

    Thank you so much for your immense generosity in donating an iPad to my classroom. You donation has made a tremendous impact in our classroom and the iPad is being used in a variety of ways throughout the day. Testing is one very important way in which the iPad is being used. The iPad makes it easy to access assessment sites, assess students, and subsequently place students strategically in reading and math groups. Students can also access many academic platforms for small group rotations and individual use. Our previous iPad was over ten years old and had issues connecting to the internet, which made both teacher and student use extremely difficult. Thank you again for your donation!”

  • Calming Area

    I want to begin by thanking you for your donation towards our classroom Calming Corner. Our classroom Calming Corner has provided students with a designated safe space to go when they feel their emotions running high and they need to regain emotional and physical control. The ability to calm oneself when experiencing big feelings and self-regulation are learned skills, and the Calming Corner has provided students with a space to practice and learn these crucial skills; a space where they feel safe addressing their feelings. With your donation, I invested in a variety of tools for both the Calming Corner and our classroom environment in general. The affirmation posters have created an environment filled with positive affirmations. The fidget toys have helped students deescalate when they are feeling overstimulated and experiencing big feelings. The noise machine with nature sounds and calming music is helpful in whole group settings such as entering and exiting the classroom and during transitions.

    Dear Friends,

    Thank you so much for your donation. The students have had an amazing time video taping their performances and observing themselves on video. Students were surprised on how they spoke, stood, and performed. Every child's confidence improved over time. Writing and work/study habits also improved. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

    I am now teaching teaching Dual Language Kindergarten and have video taped groups of students performing small skits retelling famous folktales. Kids really enjoy watching themselves on video. Just like the third graders students are more eager and excited about about performing at their best.

    Dear Friend,

    I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see you share my vision for reaching children. Technology is an excellent tool to help support student learning.

    As of today 75% of students know all the multiplication facts and 25% have mastered either some or most. The flashcards, FACTOR FRENZY, AND other tech games have played a very important part in our success.

    Students not only used the material in class but also had the opportunity to take the material home. All students in both third grade classes have used the material.
