Create and Learn!
Funded Sep 7, 2024Thank you for your incredible generosity! I wanted to share how the supplies you donated have truly helped engage my students. Your contributions have brought learning to life in our classroom. My students love hands-on activities, and anytime Play-Doh is involved, they are so excited—regardless of their age!
We used the donated materials to model cell division using paper plates, creating visual representations of mitosis and showing how cells duplicate. Additionally, we used Play-Doh to model the intricate process of meiosis, exploring how crossing over occurs during prophase and leads to genetic variation. The moment my students saw the Play-Doh, their excitement was contagious—they couldn't wait to dive in and start creating their masterpieces! These activities have helped make abstract concepts tangible and engaging.
Next, my students will build on this foundation by creating their own models of cell structures and designing projects that explore genetics in greater depth. We will also work on creating models of DNA using the colored paper that was donated. These materials will continue to support creative and meaningful learning experiences throughout the year.
Thank you for being a part of our classroom journey and for making these moments possible. Your support is helping me empower my students and allowing them to explore concepts that are often difficult to visualize.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pleitez
