  • Sew Excited to Have a Sewing Machine!

    Thank you so much for funding my project. I can't wait to return from break to let my students know.

    Next year when we create our community quilts this sewing machine will come in handy and save lots of tiny fingers from being pricked!

  • Young Bronx Artists Need Sketchbooks for Visual Diaries

    You have made 275 students in a poverty ridden neighborhood very happy. Not only are they using their sketchbooks in art class but the lunch room is now filled with students sketching away. Some assignments that we have the used the sketchbooks for follow : the students designed candy that has special powers on Halloween, they created a new superhero and identified the superheroes strengths and weaknesses, the 5th grade students sketched pumpkins as a practice exercise for their still life paintings.

    Our school is constantly struggling with a just too small budget and there is absolutely no way without your help my students would have sketchbooks. When I explained to them that a group of people donated the money to buy the sketchbooks they were amazed that strangers would want to help. So they have also learned an important lesson about generosity.”
