Building Blocks for Learning
Funded Sep 14, 2023Thank you so much for your generous contributions that helped bring this project to life. I noticed an interest in my students for building blocks early in the year but i did not expect how excited they would get when they saw the boxes of new block in class. I was amazed by their creativity when working with the blocks. The blocks have also worked as a great motivational tool for the students to complete their daily classroom assignments because they want to use the blocks so much. The students also feel so special when I let them know that the blocks were made possible through generous donations by people and companies that want them to have a great day in school.”

Funded Apr 10, 2023Thank you so much for donating to our project, Step Away for the Screen. My students were elated when we started to receive the Amazon boxes! I was a bit surprised by how much they wanted to explore all of their new games. We use the games during inclement weather, which for us is when it gets too hot to play on the blacktop, and as a reward for Fun Friday when they have completed all assignments for the week. Several times I have found myself engrossed in the games with students as I am taken back to those fun childhood games that I enjoyed so much. Additionally I feel that some of my students have been motivated to complete their weekly assignments so they can play the games for a couple of minutes on Friday after lunch. Thanks again for your generous contributions.”

Art Is Priceless
Funded Mar 26, 2023Thank you for providing the glazes and tools necessary to create amazing art projects with my students. It has been amazing to see the students turn clay into incredible works of art. I have really enjoyed seeing the students flourish artistically. This project has had a profound and unforeseen affect on my students social emotional well being in the classroom. It's wonderful to see the silence that falls upon the classroom as the students are engrossed in their projects. Your donations have had an impact beyond anything that I could have imagined.”

Calm Corner (LAUSD)
Funded Jan 11, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom's Calming Corner. The students were elated when the Amazon packages started arriving. When we opened the beanbags, all I heard was "Wow!! I want to sit on it!" The Calming Corner is a safe space that the children can visit when they are feeling stressed out or just not having a good day. The corner has cushioned mats, bean bags, little desks and cushions. There are stacking rocks, games, books, and art supplies that the children can use to relax. It has already been put to good use. One child came in to school really quiet and sad. I let her go to the Calming Corner and she started painting pictures. The Calming Corner helped to make her feel better. The children absolutely love this new space in the classroom!”

More Than Chisel and Stone
Funded Jan 28, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students were so happy when they received the tablet! Many of my students had never seen a tablet before. They were amazed at what they could do with just a touch of their fingertips.
Having a tablet in class made it possible for my students to do research on the tablet for their research projects. They were also able to access the many online educational websites that we use daily. Thanks you again for helping to bring technology into my classroom!”
