  • Respect Your Classroom Respect Yourself

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom! My students were so excited when they found out that our project was funded. They all screamed, "Yay!!"

In our classroom we do a lot of creative art and science projects. Many times these projects leave our classroom a mess. We try to use paper towels to clean up our work spaces, but many times, the desks are still sticky or have paint or crayon marks on them. Having wipes in the classroom that they can use to clean, is AMAZING! The students feel better when their classroom is clean and organized. They are able to better focus on their studies and are more productive in the classroom.

Thank you again!! We really appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Okamura

  • Charge! (Then Ready, Set)

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students were elated when they learned that our project had been funded. Sometimes children come to school feeling anxious or upset. They are so happy to have a calming corner in the classroom. A calming corner is a designated space where students can go to regulate their emotions and regain focus when they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or upset.

They absolutely love the new sunshine carpet we received! They said, "It makes the calming corner more comfortable and it's so soft!" They were also really excited about the flexible seating cushions! Now they can take the cushions and sit anywhere comfortably! The children think that the cushions are beautiful and they brighten up our classroom. I can't thank you enough because having a classroom where the children feel safe, comfortable , and that they think is beautiful makes such a difference to their learning. When students feel safe and enjoy their surroundings, they are more motivated to participate and take pride in their work. Thank you again!!”

  • Listening to Learn

    Funded May 12, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Headphones for every student has made such an impact in the classroom! We use our laptops on a daily basis for enrichment and differentiation. Before the students had headphones, they would get distracted by all the different noises in the classroom. Now, they can focus and concentrate on their lessons.

I tried buying the students earbuds but that didn't work out! The students complained that the earbuds hurt their ears. These new headphones are comfortable and the students love them! They keep saying, "These are the best ever!"

These headphones have made such a difference in our classroom! I can't thank you enough!”

  • Pencils and Markers. (Simple Yes, but So Necessary)

    Funded Feb 25, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students were so excited when the office called our room to say we got a package. They screamed, "Yay!!" The students had been anxiously waiting for their new pencils and markers to arrive!

Many of my students do not have access to school supplies at their home. Now they no longer have to worry about needing a pencil or markers. During the day there are so many interruptions to the classroom when a student breaks their pencil and needs to sharpen it. Now, they can quietly get a newly sharpened pencil to use while I sharpen the dull ones AFTER school. A simple thing such as a pencil or marker really makes a huge difference to our classroom. Thank you again!!”

  • Using Technology in the Classroom to the Fullest Extent

    Funded Feb 20, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our project! Our class just received our very own printer for the classroom! The students screamed out in joy when I brought up the box. "Open it!" they exclaimed. When I took the printer out of the box all I heard was ,"Wow!!" and "Can I use it first?"

Students used to to tell me that they would have to go to a printing store to print out their reports and their pictures for projects. Many of my students do not have access to a printer at home. Now that we have this printer, they no longer have to worry about going to the printing shop. This is going to make their lives and mine so much easier! Thank you again!!”

  • Shhh...Listening to Learn

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

I can't thank you enough for donating to my classroom! My students are absolutely in love with their new headphones. They constantly complained how much their earbuds hurt their ears and they couldn't bear to wear them for longer than 15 minutes. These new Sony headphones are amazing! The students keep telling me how comfortable they are!

In my classroom, the students use technology to learn. They work on research projects and many students watch videos to gather information. Now they can comfortably watch videos without complaining that their ears hurt. They can also now research and not disturb their neighbors.

The students are also required to take a lot of assessments using technology and some of these assessments take hours to complete! The headphones make it easier for the students to concentrate on their assessments because they are now no longer in pain from their earbuds. My students want you to know that they really appreciate your donations and they LOVE their new headphones!”

  • Building Blocks for Learning

    Funded Sep 14, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous contributions that helped bring this project to life. I noticed an interest in my students for building blocks early in the year but i did not expect how excited they would get when they saw the boxes of new block in class. I was amazed by their creativity when working with the blocks. The blocks have also worked as a great motivational tool for the students to complete their daily classroom assignments because they want to use the blocks so much. The students also feel so special when I let them know that the blocks were made possible through generous donations by people and companies that want them to have a great day in school.”

My students are a wonderful group of kids. I hesitate to say we are an "inner city school" because I know the kind of images that puts in people's minds. They are great kids like in any other school but, they face challenges and do not have some of the advantages other kids may have. I just want to prepare them the best that I can for the world that we currently live in.
