  • Printing the "Product" Of Our Work

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for your incredible generosity in helping us acquire a new printer for our classroom!

Having a reliable printer in the classroom will make a tremendous difference. It will allow us to easily print worksheets, learning activities, and other materials that bring lessons to life. It also allows us to print student work from essays to word problems and art projects - the students are so excited to be able to print their work to share!

Thank you for believing in our students and for investing in their education. Your gift will have a lasting impact.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Our Feelings Are Important

    Funded Sep 10, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The students were so excited to pick out their historical character to use on our classroom Mood Meter.

The students use their historical character on the Mood Meter each morning. Where they place their character tells all of us where they are in terms of mood. It also helps me see where they are in terms of mood so that I can help them regulate or come up with strategies to regulate their emotions and help make the day a little bit easier and more palatable.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Our Learning is on a Roll!

    Funded Sep 1, 2023

Thank you so much for the generosity you have shown toward our classroom. The rolling easel you funded is used all day and every day!

As a teacher I use the easel to teach whole class concepts as well as my small groups. The fact that I can roll the easel wherever I need it is very helpful and I can move and adjust it so everyone in the class can see the concepts. I use the both the lined and unlined side of the easel and the fact that the easel is magnetized helps with displaying charts and manipulatives.

The students like the size of the easel as it is the perfect height for them to write on.

Thank you again for thinking of our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • A Rug and a Reward

    Funded Feb 10, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. The students love using the small, colorful booklets as their sticker books. They collect the stickers they are rewarded each day in the booklets and love to count their stickers to see how well they are doing! The booklets are a great motivational piece to keep the students engaged and excited about learning!

The rug has been a great addition to our classroom. The classroom is the students' home-away-from-home and the rug adds a touch of coziness and home to the classroom we all spend so much time in.

We are so grateful for your support for our classroom and thank you again for donating!”

  • Graphic Novels for the Win!

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

This has to be me of my most popular projects yet! Thank you so much for gifting our classroom the standing desk and graphic novels.

The students have absolutely LOVED the graphic novels! It has sparked an excitement for reading that I have not seen in a long time. My students now request independent reading time so they can dig into their favorite graphic novel and the variety of subjects and levels of the graphic novels in this project ensure that every child in the class has access to the books and content.

The standing desk has allowed us to have a permanent space for the electronic equipment we use for lessons.

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Stylin' Styluses, Better Binders, and Lovely Lockers

    Funded Jun 18, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom through your generous donations.

We are using the styluses to do math problems on our chrome book. The styluses help the students write the problems more neatly and accurately. The styluses are also helpful for navigating our class website and resources since tiny hands sometimes have difficulty being accurate on the screen.

The carabiners are working so well on our lockers! They help keep the lockers closed without using combination locks.

The binders are being used for to house all of the students' reading materials. The binders help the students stay organized and access their tools and information easily.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Odds and Ends and Fun!

    Funded May 17, 2022

We want to thank you again for funding our project.

We are using the smaller baskets in our art center. We can now house all of our markers, colored pencils, crayons, scissors and crafting supplies safely and securely. The baskets do not have sharp edges and are not falling apart like our old bins and the kids are doing a good job taking care of the bins so they will last a long time.

We are using the larger baskets to house the books in our Finished Early Center. The books fit perfectly in the larger bins and all the baskets match which makes the center look much more organized.

The students absolutely loved receiving the slime kits as their end-of-the-year gifts! They were so excited to open the packages and start making their own slime creations at home. This teacher loved that the slime kits helped foster a love of STEM!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Ground Control to Remote Learners!

    Funded Sep 21, 2020

Thank you so much for thinking of our classroom with your generous donation. Remote learning has been both a struggle and a learning experience for the students and for me!

When our school closed down in the spring of 2020, we left on a Friday and found out that our school was closing over the weekend. Because I thought I was just leaving for the weekend and had no idea the school was about to close, I did not take any classroom materials home with me. My beloved document camera that I used almost every day was stuck in my classroom at school.

So having this new document camera donated so that I can use it at home with remote learning has been so incredibly helpful! I am able to do read alouds, show manipulatives for math to better explain concepts, and also annotate documents for students.

The headphones have been super helpful when I am remote teaching so that I can hear the students better and am better able to respond to them.

Thank you again for your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • When Tech Is in ... Students Win!

    Funded Sep 7, 2020

I can' thank you enough for supporting our classroom! We are so thankful for your donations. I used the Xpen pad every single day for the math lesson. It allows me to more accurately draw pictures to support math concepts as well as write and solve problems more quickly and clearly so that the students can better see and understand. I also use the Xpen pad to grade and provide feedback on student documents. It allows me to pinpoint and hone in on specific information sentences, paragraphs and sections in the student work so students are able to receive very specific feedback.

I use the microscope for the science lessons so we can better examine objects and plants in our study of cells.

Thank you again for your donations and support of our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm

  • Fill This Hole in Our Learning!

    Funded Jul 21, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with your donation. As you can imagine, it has been very difficult not only restructuring and redesigning the curriculum in very little time, but also having to setup classrooms and workspaces in our homes has not been easy.

Your donation allowed me to supply my students with their own copy of the book we are reading and analyzing in class. Having the book in-hand instead of having to read it online is a much more effective way for the students to access the book, re-read parts they do not understand, and annotate directly in the book.

The three-hole puncher has allowed me to stay organized with all of my lessons and teaching materials and will be helpful to use in the classroom once we return.

Thank you again for showing support for our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kohm
