My students have chosen to be in the Marine Science Academy at our school. As the history teacher, I want to provide them with a complete experience and let them see the value of the ocean to the development of the United States. Many of my students do not own any books. Their houses do not have reading materials for them. Books are a luxury for their families. Our school is a medium sized urban school where most of the students are eligible for free lunch. I want to give my students the opportunity to read a classic, Moby Dick, while continuing their study of Marine Science.
