  • Headphones for Distance Learning!

    Funded Jun 9, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting my headphones projects. My students have enjoyed using them in class. They allow my students to work independently and quietly while I conference with other students about their writing or if I'm working with a small group. Additionally, they provide students with the opportunity to block out extra noise and to focus on what they're working on. My students will get up and get themselves a pair of headphones and work on their device. This has also provided them with a level of independence in the classroom which makes them feel more confident. We are really grateful for this addition to our classroom!”

  • Scholastic News Learning & Fun!

    Funded May 19, 2021

Thank you so much for providing Scholastic News to my classroom. My students love reading the high interest articles geared towards kids their own age. As a teacher, I use these news magazines on a weekly basis to reinforce a love of reading as well as to practice our close reading skills. My students and I both love the debate section of Scholastic News as it allows all members of my classroom to discuss both sides of an interesting topic while weighing the pros and cons of each side. Thanks so much for your generosity!”

  • Tossing Fun During Distance Learning

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity in giving my students balls and tossing cups. They are having so much fun using these items at home for our Physical Education lessons. My students have told me they have gotten better at being able to catch the ball when they toss it up in the air and also when they play catch with someone in their home. They're also improving their hand eye coordination by using both the ball and the tossing cup. My students like how the ball is attached to the tossing cup because then they don't have to chase after it if they miss! Thank you so much for your generosity! My students and I greatly appreciate it.”

  • Learning With Scholastic News!

    Funded Aug 4, 2020

The Scholastic News Magazine has been an excellent resource for us this year during distance learning. I was fully expecting to be back in the classroom with my students when I posted this project and hoped the students would have the magazines in their hands. While that didn't happen fully because we are not physcially together, my students and I are truly enjoying the digital version of Scholastic News and all the features that are offered along with the articles. We have read and discussed the articles as well as watched the accompanying videos and done the news quizzes which are so fun for us all. We do especially enjoy the monthly debate features. I have been using this with my small groups and it has been a wonderful tool in helping me engage with the students and getting to know them better. Thank you so much!”

  • Workbooks for Distance Learning

    Funded May 20, 2020

Thank you so much for funding these workbooks for my students. I has given them a book of their own to write and work in while they are at home learning. My students enjoy doing the pages in the book and sharing them with me through our distance learning adventure. The workbooks are giving the students the ability to review, practice and strengthen their foundational skills in preparation for the work to come this school year. Thank you so much for providing these for my students so they can continue to learn and grow.”

  • Flexible Seating!

    Funded Apr 24, 2020

Thank you so much for these stools. They may seem like a minor item to have in a classroom but they allow for big things to occur. During non-Covid times, these would be used to allow students to sit in small groups with me while I provided differentiated instruction. However, we are in different times and when we return to the classroom these will be the perfect item in order help create social distance. Students will be able to grab a stool and move where they feel comfortable. Thank you for your generosity, it is truly appreciated.”

  • Creativity at Home

    Funded May 20, 2020

Thank you so much for providing these materials to my students. They love being able to read "Charlotte's Web" at home and using the twistable Crayola's to bring the story to life in their sketchbook. These items have kept the students engaged in literacy and art activities while at home. So often these days our students don't get to participate in creative projects as a part of school for a number of reasons but many times it's because the materials are in short supply. We are truly grateful for these materials so we can have some fun while learning!”

  • Chromebooks for Learning and Success!

    Funded Nov 6, 2019

Thank you so much for the Chromebooks. These have made a huge difference in my classroom. They have allowed my students access to various websites. I am able to work with small groups of students and this provides me the opportunity to differentiate instruction for all students and meet their instructional needs. While I am working with small groups of students, other students are able to use the chromebooks to read, write, learn to type and do assignments that I assign them through the Google Classroom. I would like my students to be very familiar with the Google Suite of programs as I know they will be using them in middle and high school. Thank you so much for providing my students with the opportunity to grow as learners.”

  • Jumping Through Hoops!

    Funded Aug 29, 2019

My students have enjoyed the hoops and jump ropes immensely! We are so appreciative. The kids love jumping rope, which they are getting better at and playing with the hoops. We have played several hoop games including Rock, Paper Scissors Relays where the kids run to the middle, play Rock, Paper, Scissors and the winner continues running forward while the losing side sends out another runner. We played a few other relay games and then I left the hoops for the kids to 'just play' with and they made up a game! They played Simon Says using the colors of the hoops - "Simon Says Green" and then they would move to the green hoop. As a teacher, it was wonderful to watch them discover, create and play with something as simple as a hoop and a jump rope which were staples of my childhood. We are all grateful for these donations to our classroom and thank you so very much for your generosity!”

  • Learning With Chromebooks!

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

Thank you so much for the chromebooks. My class now has a total of 10, which makes it much easier for me to rotate differentiated groups. My students love using the chromebooks to learn how to type and publish their written works. They will also be using the chromebooks to research various topics for science and social studies projects which they will present to the class. We love using the Google platform and their G-Suite of apps - especially google docs and google slides. I also post assignments on google classroom and the kids enjoy using that as well. Thank you so much for your generous donation, which has made our classroom experience much more enriched and wonderful.”
