At P.A.E. my students require Sensory Integration materials that all itinerant Specialists could utilize to enhance attention and focus in order to learn. Preschool Special Education students receive services through collaboration of disciplines including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Least Restrictive Environment Specialists to prepare severely handicapped preschoolers for full inclusion, Adaptive Physical Education Teachers and Speech Pathologists. I have a unique position as a Special Day Program Aphasia Teacher/ Licensed Speech Therapist who provides Speech and Language Therapy daily in this classroom to multiply disabled youngsters. I work with students who exhibit a myriad of issues to address IEP goals including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Retardation, Auditory & Visual Processing Disorders, Learning Disabled, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Preschool Multiple Disabilities, Preschool Severe Language Impaired/Aphasia,and Severe Emotional Disturbances.
