I work at an inner city school in Los Angeles. Our student population consists of 95% English Language Learners. We are designated Title I school; the majority of our students come from low-income families. We are over-populated and this puts our students at a disadvantage. Most of my students come from working families where both Mom and Dad have to work to earn a living. This situation makes it tough for our students to get those meaningful out of classroom experiences they need to help their learning.
