Lights, Camera, Action!
Funded Oct 9, 2019Thank you very much for our iPads and Apple Pencils! With these iPads our students can plan out, film, edit, and share movies. Our students can create infomercials for the 13 colonies and film news reports from Revolutionary War battlefields. With the Apple Pencils students can create backgrounds and plan out storyboards. Using our class green screen, students can place their own illustrations as the backgrounds to student made videos. These iPads have great battery life and are an all in one video editing solution for our classroom. Thank you very much!”

Funded Oct 2, 2017Thank you very much for your generous donation! The five Chromebooks have enabled our class to utilize Google Classroom. Having at least one device for each student makes a number of 1 to 1 technology activities possible. We have been able to better use educational tools like Nearpod since each student can have their own device. Furthermore, our classroom has no digital divide. Instead of students having to bring their own devices, our classroom can now provide a device for each and every student. Once again, thank you very much for your very generous donation!”

Chromebooks for Connecting Math and History
Funded Oct 13, 2016Thank you very much! These Chromebooks have been an invaluable tool for allowing students to access Google Classroom and other resources. Students have been able to easily work with Google Docs and Google Sheets. The battery life, at around 8 hours, is incredible. Students also love being able to log in and have all of their settings and accounts automatically set up. The only issue now is that all of the students want to use the Chromebooks! Once again, thank you very much for these amazing Chromebooks!”

Exploring the Learner Profile through HE NAMED ME MALALA
Funded Aug 27, 2015Thank you very much for funding this tremendous opportunity for our students. Visiting the theater to view He Named Me Malala was the culminating activity in a unit that we built around this event. Students studied the history and culture of Pakistan through their history class. Students also explored the life of Malala through their language arts class. These lessons gave rise to excellent discussions about the importance of providing access to education to girls. The students loved the film and it reinforced the ideas that had been previously explored in class. Thank you very much!”

Madison's Notes are Missing!
Funded Aug 19, 2014Thank you very much for your very generous donation! The colored pencils, markers, posterboards, and microphones are greatly appreciated. The students enjoy using the microphones to record podcasts. The great thing about these microphones is that they only record the student and block out the background noise. This allows multiple groups to record during class. The student's also enjoy using the awesome colored pencil and marker class sets. Once again, thank you very much for your generous donation!”

Funded Aug 10, 2012Thank you very much for the extremely useful crates! After reading a book on creative educational spaces, I realized our classroom needed a way to adjust to students. These crates are perfect! When working on a large poster, the crates can be used to build a perfectly sized table. When filming in the digital studio, the crates can be used to create a news desk that works with the green screen. With better weather, I hope to use them to have class outside. Once again, thank you very much for all of your support!”

Hands-On History
Funded Aug 10, 2012Thank you very much for all of the great supplies! The History Lab is all about giving students a chance to engage in hands on activities that involve creation and design. The only issue with these activities is that they require a great deal of resources. Our students will be able to make some great products with the vast array of things this project provided, everything from clay to feathers. First up is designing a model of a memorial for the Trail of Tears. Once again, thank you very much for all of our support!”

History Class In HD
Funded Aug 10, 2012Thank you very much for the fantastic HD video camera! The new set up has turned out even better than expected. Student films look much better now than they did with our much older camera. As an added bonus, the green screen works much better with the HD camera than it did with the old one. Also, the camera has an external mic port which has greatly improved the audio quality of studio recordings as well. This project has led to a quantum leap in quality for our students' projects. Once again, thank you very much for all of your support!”
