  • Fostering the Love of Reading

    Funded Jul 5, 2020

Thank you very much for your generosity and wanting to help my students. My students were excited to receive their new books. For many of them, those books have been the first chapter books that they have owed. Although we are still virtual teaching/learning, the books have given my students new enthusiasm to learn during this time. Every time we begin to read the book during the school day, no matter how tired my students may be, they light up and rush to find their books. Your generosity has made a difference in the lives of my students.”

  • Maximizing Distance Learning

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

The technology that received through your generous donations have been of great use. I am able to easily show my students and explain the work I expect of them. I can clearly show and guide my student with examples. The document camera helps me show in real time. The iPad pen helps me write, highlight and underline important facts on the screen. I believe that my students are learning more because of this technology. Thank you once again for helping my students as muchas possible during this time away from the classroom.”

  • Assisting Students During the New Normal

    Funded Jul 3, 2020

On behalf of my wonderful students, I want to thank you for your generosity! They were very excited when they received the agendas. It was a great treat for them to start off the new school year with their agenda. They write their assignments there as well as any specials dates and activities. The agenda is helping them become organized and more with their material at home. They are also enjoying learning how to use the reference sheets found in the front of the agenda. They look forward to using their agendas everyday.”

  • Learning with Technology

    Funded Oct 22, 2018

Thank you very much for your generosity. With your donation, my students were able to receive two tablets along with keyboards. Although our school has tablets that students can use, they are sometimes not available for my students to use since they are given to other students for the district mandated assessments to be done.

Now my students rotate through out the day using the tablets to enhance their learning in all academic areas. They are also using the tablets to learn to type as well as learning to write code.”

  • Urban Garden

    Funded Jul 28, 2018

Thank you for your donation. My students have started planting seeds to grow in the classroom then transplant them to our grade level garden. They also planted seeds to conduct experiments inside our classroom to answer their inquires about plants. My students are very excited about taking care of their plants and continue learning about plants and flowers. When they visited the school library many of them requested books about plants, experiments and books about taking care of plants. They can't wait for their seeds to sprout. Thank you for making learning more fun and exciting.”

  • Becoming Healthy Students

    Funded Sep 2, 2013

Thank you for your generous donation. My students have been using the common core writing center to practice writing their thought in complete sentences while having fun. They are also developing and practicing language/vocabulary by listening to the song in the Smart and Tasty cd as they learn to develop healthy habits. My students are practicing their reading by using the tablet. All materials have reinforced the skills and strategies taught in the classroom, which are all based on the new common core standards, in a fun and interactive manner.”

  • Healthy Students = Better Students

    Funded Mar 14, 2012

Thank you once again for helping fund my classroom project. I can't fully put into words my joy, excitement, and gratitude for your donation to my project.

The tools that you have funded will enable my students to learn how and why to be an active child. I will be able to use the equipment to teach them new songs, games and skills that they will use throughout their lives. After using the picture exercise cards with my students, I gave each student the opportunity to lead the class in performing the exercises. Leading their classmates in doing the exercises ignited their interest in learning other types of activities which they used the Nook Tablet to do research.

Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce the new equipment to my energetic kindergarten students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trabanino

My kindergarten students attend a low social economic school in an urban area. It is surrounded by crime and poverty. The majority of my students have a 12 hour school day by attending both the before and after school programs since their parents work. Despite their long day, my kindergarten students always come to school yearning to learn. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and lack of resources, they sometimes do not get the opportunity to participate in certain sports since the community does not offer it to them. For that reason I try my best to expose them to as many activities and sports that I am able to with the resources and space I have.
