Social Studies Resources

Funded Dec 29, 2018

Thank you so much for the donation to our classroom.

With the biography books and the Who Was/ What Was series my students were able to complete awesome biography projects. They each picked a famous person and researched him/her in the frame of "A Hero's Journey" adapted for second graders. The parts of the project included a person's origin (childhood), call to action (what made them what to change the world/invent/etc.), their person's big moment (what made him/her famous) and his/her effect on the world. All of our resources were so helpful. After students completed their project we had a biography fair where they presented their projects to each other and important adults at our school. In addition to helping with this project these resources have inspired everyone's love of history.

Our students have been using the Time Magazine articles in our reading centers. They feel very grown-up reading a real magazine.

We have not yet started our Economics unit but are looking forward to using our economics resources in April.”

With gratitude,
