Wireless Math!
Funded Jan 13, 2010Our class has received several things from donors choose, but this by far is the best one! Our students really love using the tablet in class and have learned so much since we have received it. The tablet allows me to go around the room and look at student work as I circulate. I can see the common problems and immediately address them with the entire class. Additionally, this tablet and the software that accompanies it allow us to electronically write on web pages, PowerPoint slides, excel, and any other program we choose. It really is wonderful and we are so thankful!!! Without your generous donation, we would not have access to such technology, so thanks so much. ”

Funded Dec 17, 2009We are so thankful to have received these items. We use them absolutely everyday. The students really love working on the white boards because it gives each student a chance to demonstrate what he or she knows in a public way. Using the whiteboards is just a nice way to change the way that we share and display our work in class.
We also are getting great use out of the post it notes. We use those regularly for quizzes and other displays around the room. It's really interesting because we are doing a lot of the same work that we did on regular loose leaf paper. But for some reason, since we now work on different materials, the students are so much more engaged. As a teacher, I have learned that sometimes students are motivated by the simplest things.
Thank you for providing us with the materials that keep us motivated towards achieving all that we can and helping us to realize our potential. ”

Funded Nov 17, 2009The overhead projector has made a huge difference in the level of instruction the students receive. This is a technological age and students respond to technology. The projector has also enabled us work on the graphing calculators as a class. The students' proficiency in using these calculators has increased dramatically since we have received the view screen. Rather than have a bunch of students crowd around a calculator, we can project our learning on the screen so that all students can see and participate. The overhead projector and calculator view screen is really a great tool for us.
Additionally, the overhead projector cart has really made a difference. I am now able to use my overhead projector in all of my classes, as I can wheel the projector there on the cart. This makes using technology in the classroom so much more feasible and the students really do enjoy getting a break from the white board. We are now more able to make math really come to life in our class room.
Again, thank you so much for your generous donation and for caring enough about our community to actively make a difference!

Funded Apr 9, 2009The LCD projector has made a huge difference in the level of instruction the students receive. This is a technological age and students respond to technology. I am continually surprised at how savvy the kids are at using the computer and projector. The projector has also enabled us to use different math websites and programs as a class. Rather than have a bunch f students crowd around a computer, we can project our learning on the screen so that all students can see and participate. The LCD projector is really a great tool for us.
Additionally, the LCD projector cart has really made a difference. I am now able to use my LCD projector and laptop without having to prop them up on books on student desks. This makes using technology in the classroom so much more feasible and the students really do enjoy getting a break from the white board. We are now more able to make math really come to life in our class room.
Again, thank you so much for your generous donation and for caring enough about our community to actively make a difference!

Funded Jul 31, 2009We have gotten off to such a great start this year! Your generous donation greatly contributed to this. The pencils and erasers are SO appreciated by our students. We use them on a daily basis and they are used by every student in the class. These materials have eliminated the possibility of work not being submitted because of lack of proper materials. As a result, students are performing better and are really buying into the "no excuses" culture we are aiming to create.
