Markers Make My Students Art Shine
Funded May 16, 2023Without supporters like you, we would not be able to showcase each student's careful work. I created this fundraiser in hopes that it would inspire the students and make an actual difference. The fine-tip markers do just that.
Your gift provides the students some quiet mindful moments to create, write, and color. Your gift provided the kids with a way to share their work with the "colors of the rainbow".
Thank you for providing enjoyment in the classroom. The students were so excited and thankful to start tracing, enhancing, and coloring.”

Help Us Learn How to Write in Cursive
Funded Nov 18, 2022The students were so excited to be able to utilize the new white boards. It was a great incentive for them to be able to practice on them and share their best cursive practice.
All the students look forward to our daily practice now. It is a fun addition that the students love to be part of. They also enjoy sharing their best practices with their partners, so it is wonderful way for students to teach and learn from each other.
Next, the students will be writing their best complete sentences in cursive utilizing their learning in grammar while creating compound and complex sentences.”

Dive Into a Good Book
Funded Oct 28, 2020In class, I introduce many different literary skills when reading a book together. For example, a 3rd grade focus standard is finding the main idea and details. In addition, as the students and I dive into a good book together, I usually start a literary journal. After every chapter we read, I focus on a specific literacy skills like setting, character analysis, plot, point of view, and compare and contrast.
It is important to just enjoy the love of reading. The books I received from you are high interest books that I have found children love to read. I often pick a book that is focused on a theme where many reading skills can be taught. First, I read aloud to model reading with expression and intonation. Often, I pose focus questions that will be a topic for class discussion for each chapter. The students break up into assigned literacy groups where they discuss, share, and focus on a specific skills assigned for that day.
Due to Covid, I have not yet been able to enjoy the new books with my students. However, I cannot wait to share the new books with the students as school resumes.”

Brighten and Organize
Funded Sep 16, 2020Due to Covid19, the students and I have not been able to utilize the table organizers yet. However, I have showed them how the donated classroom resources will be used when we safely return to school and our classroom.
The students were so excited to see what they had to look forward too. One student exclaimed, "Wow, the table organizer swivel, so I do not have to move the whole thing." and "We will always be able to find whiteboards, markers, and erasers quickly which saves time."
When it is safe to return to school, the students will use the materials donated to enhance the learning process. They will be using the whiteboards to share and show their work. In addition, there will be a dedicated space for materials used during the learning process in class. The students are enthusiastic to learn more and hope to return to the classroom safely soon.”

Funded Sep 19, 2019The students in my classroom cheered when they received their own seat sacks. It was an emotional moment for me because it was exciting to see them empty their packed desk spaces and learn how to improve their organizational skills.
Currently, the students easily find their folders and notebooks. Since we have been able to decrease transition times between assignments by being more organized, the students have noticed that they have more time to spend on other activities. They love saving time for "free time".
One day, a students raised his hand and shared, " I never knew that being organized could be so useful." Another students chimed in and exclaimed, "I love that I know where to find my folder, and I am so happy I do not need to look through my whole desk anymore to find it."
"Thanks a million" for your donation to the classroom, and I truly believe that organization can be the key to success! Now, I think my students agree.”

Fun While Learning to Read and Comprehend
Funded Dec 13, 2011Dear Donors,
The use of the Literacy Reading/Comprehension Computer Programs have been a fantastic addition to the classroom. The students are so excited to be able to use the learning games on the computer. It really has enhanced their learning in a new and 'fun" way. The students take turns and enjoy learning this way. If our weekly learning focus is sequencing, I use the learning CD Rom that focuses on sequencing stories to enhance the students learning that week. Furthermore, test-taking strategies are important to prepare for CTS testing, so the "Test-Taking Strategies" from Learning Company have been invaluable. I am also able to use it in class while projecting the CD ROM'S on ELMO for the class. It's fun to group the kids into teams and play "Testing Stategies" games. It inspires learning in a different way. With your donation, we are learning more than ever! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ”

Funded Dec 5, 2011Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. With your support, we have been able to capture some important events in our classroom forever.
With the budget shortfall in our school district, we would not have been able to get any extra technology to enhance the classroom learning. We are now able to take "snap shots" and capture moments of learning in the classroom because we have a camera readily available. Thank you for this wonderful gift.”
