  • Literacy Centers

    Funded Jul 8, 2011

Thank you so much for providing my students with the materials you supplied to us. The students enjoy using them on a daily basis and cannot wait until its reading time. It has really helped to improve on specific skills these students either need improvement on or just to refresh what they already know. The centers are a wonderful tool to use at all reading levels and also gives the students a chance to challenge themselves independently.

The Instant Learning Centers are the students favorite because they work as a team and act like it is a game. They can't wait to see what center they are going to be working on that day. They enjoy using the writing prompt box since it helps them begin a story to write. Their writing creativity has grown immensely! The "At My Desk" centers are a great way for the students to work on something independently with no interruptions while the rest of the class finished an assignment.

These materials are a fantastic addition to my classroom and my students will enjoy them for years to come. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adamo

  • More Novel Reading

    Funded Oct 27, 2009

We cannot thank all of you enough for your generosity in providing our classroom with these novels. We already read My Brother Sam is Dead and the students were so excited to have a copy of the book to refer back to. They were so careful in not bending back the pages and keeping them looking new. They completed a variety of assignments with the novel and even created different projects for it.

After I explained to them that the books were donated by all of you they felt very special to have received them. When I explained how there were 2 other novels that were donated that we will be reading they keep asking when we are going to start the next one.

This gave these students the opportunity to read novels that they otherwise would not have had the chance to read if it wasn't for all of you. So I am sure I speak for all of us when I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adamo

  • Novel Reading

    Funded Apr 10, 2009

I would just like to again thank you for the opportunity for each student to be able to have a copy of the novel "Number the Stars" as well as the audio CD for them to listen to. The students have been reading the novel and building up their knowledge on the Holocaust and the war that the novel is based on. They have been writing songs, researching Germany and World War II, and have been looking up recipes of German and Jewish foods to share with the rest of the class.

Without your help this would not have been possible for each student to be able to read the entire novel. Our district textbooks only have a short passage from the novel that is not as informative and interesting as the entire novel itself.

Without your generosity this would not have happened.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adamo

  • Writers Wonderland

    Funded Oct 25, 2007

I cannot thank you enough for donating the funds to allow the students to have these journals. Writing is such an important area for students and it is sometimes not thought about until it is too late. I am sure the students will be excited to have the chance to express their feelings and to show their creativity. I thank you again for your generosity.
