I teach in a diverse, urban school district with a high level of poverty. Parents try their best to be involved and provide their children with educational experiences at home, but often lack the time or resources. Students come to school with many outside obstacles, but are excited to learn and eager to experience learning in new ways! The average k-2 classroom has 25 students and one teacher. All students receive free lunch and breakfast. After eleven years of teaching kindergarten in this district, I am now moving to first grade. I am so excited to start this new journey with first graders and am in need of some materials to help instruct and engage my students.
