  • Unleashing Our Creativity

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you once again for donating to my students' art education. Your generosity has greatly impacted my high school students. Securing art supplies is always a challenge, so they were thrilled when the paint and canvases arrived! They were able to create amazing paintings on canvases (not just paper as usual) and even a few large murals on the school walls. It really does brighten the building up and the compliments make the students smile ear to ear. We will have many more opportunities to create amazing masterpieces to beautify our school classrooms and hallways. I have never seen a more proud group of high school student. Your support has allowed more students to enroll in our art classes and has definitely increased their confidence.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Palmieri

  • Get Moving

    Funded Dec 13, 2010

You would not believe how thrilled my third grade class was to receive all the items that were purchased with the monies you donated !! They work so hard throughout the day to earn their recess time, which this year has been spent indoors due to the huge amounts of snow we received. When the time comes, boy, do they enjoy themselves. It is a race to see who can get the best time in the stacking cups game, there's always a Connect Four championship going on and 'target' practice with the bean bag toss. I'm so proud of how they can do mental math to keep score in their head of who is winning that game! All their hard work pays off.

We did actually get to go outside one day this week, even though it wasn't above fifty degrees. They were chomping at the bit to get out there and use the new playground toys. Footballs were flying across the basketball game, jump ropes and Frisbees crossing paths, it was a wonderful sight to see. They all played and shared so well to you all. They were kids being kids which is hard to come by in the city. Thanks to your generous giving, they had a glorious (but cold) day out. Fresh air, new toys, and tons of fun.

You are all in our thoughts every day! We are all thrilled to know there are so many kind, giving people out there who helped brighter our school days. Thank you all again from the bottom of our third grade hearts !!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Palmieri

  • Dying to Dissect

    Funded Dec 8, 2009

WOW! What a wonderful day we just had! The students were so engrossed in dissecting that you could hear a pin drop. They were able to be genuine scientists for the day. Observing, identifying, and dissecting the frog was such an experience for them all. One that I'm sure they will never forget. A few girls even mentioned how they could picture themselves dissecting things for a living. One group of boys found a baby mouse in their frogs stomach. We were all astonished. How could a frog eat a mouse. Which, of course, led to a long discussion on the food chain.

The amount of discussions from a single frog dissection was amazing. From comparing the frogs organs to a human, discussing how and what the frogs eat, to why they have webbed feet, was truly educational. Thank you once again for helping to fund this project!”

    With gratitude,

WOW! We are SO excited to hear how generous you have been. We will take tons of pictures so you can see us knee deep in frogs!! Your kindness will be remembered for the rest of my fifth graders lives!! • We Need Exercise

    Funded Nov 21, 2007

What generous and giving people you are!! Our inner city children will be thrilled beyond belief!! There will be no limit to their activities now that you have so graciously given to our school. Their imaginations will create numerous games and friendly competitions amongst themselves and the memories will last a lifetime. You don't know how many smiles you have just created!! Thank you again from all the students at Edison Elementary School in Bridgeport, Connecticut!! And have a great holiday season! Cheers”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Palmieri

We are an inner city sixth grade class where science is always on the back burner. I am trying to give science the come back it deserves and get the children excited about it, by introducing them to dissection. Something that is in our curriculum, but never funded
