Naruto and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Keep Us Reading
Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you so much for donating these books for my students. We read in our class everyday and my students always choose to read one of these books. Having new books that they love has dramatically increased their interest in reading.
This year at our school we do not have a librarian. Most of my students do not have books at home. My class is the only place many of my students have access to books.
I can think of a few students who told me that this year they were going to ask for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" or "Naruto" books for Christmas. Before we went on winter break, some of my students asked me if I could obtain additional books for them. Now they are planning what they would like to read together.
Again, thank you so much for your generosity. You are appreciated.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 5 other donors. The American Revolution: Why Did We Revolt?
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you so much for donating color pencils and drawing supplies to our classroom. We have been using them to create posters and history journal pages about United States History.
When I showed my students the two huge boxes of color pencils, and gave each of them a special pencil grip, they were excited. It made them feel happy and proud that you cared enough about them to give them art supplies.
This project and the continuing United States History projects boost my students' learning by incorporating visuals and print information. This helps to make history more real for my students. Everyone is now skilled at using visuals to tell a story. For example, we are currently creating a display case about the Trail of Tears using the art supplies you sent us.
Thank you very much. We are grateful for your help and believing in us. We couldn't have created these projects without you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Winterling
