  • Technology Enhances Our Learning

    I want to take this time to thank you for donating to my Donors Choose Project. My Mini Ipad has been a game changer in my classroom. Since I am using it with a Smartboard, my students now have access to typing their responses, to be projected, for all to see. I am also using an app called Noteworthy that allows me to create my slide presentations, for my students, on my Mini Ipad.

    I know there's a lot of different ways to utilize my new technology. As I continue to explore various apps, I will definitely incorporate it into my teaching. Technology is the way of the future and therefore exposing our kids to it and showing them how to use it is something that I will continue to strive to do.

  • Falling In Love With Learning

    I just want to take this time to thank those who donated to Falling in Love With Learning. I posted some great pictures showing some of the items that were purchased. The students in my class all have the desire to challenge themselves to learn at full capacity, and therefore the purchased materials have been used to enhance their learning. Due to budget constraints, the purchasing of classroom materials has been limited. Through Donors Choose and your kind donations, you have made a difference in the life of a child.

  • Sharpening Minds of the Future

    Words cannot express my gratitude for your kind donation. My students are prepared, every morning, with a sharp pencil to start the day. Because my students are fully aware that our commercial sharpeners were donated with a cause, they use them respectfully and with appreciation!

    Not only do my students benefit, but I do as well. Having our pencil sharpeners has freed me up from having to take time out of my busy morning to sharpen pencils! My morning prep time is now geared solely to preparing for the days lesson!

My class is a diverse class that comes from all different socioeconomic backgrounds. My students love to learn and strive to be in class every day. Our school is a Title 1 school which means many of our kids are living below poverty level. Most students receive free lunch and are very limited with school supplies.
